@EuriPinhollow The word "clip" has long been an idiom used in the way that you describe. As in, "That bar is nothing but a clip joint."

When the idiom is used the word money is not normally explicitly included. It is understood to be assumed. It is not the money that is clipped, it is the former owner of that money that has been clipped of it.
