I think that this question might be useful despite being closed as a duplicate: Three definitions of the limit superior from famous textbooks are equivalent. So maybe there was not need for it to be deleted.
If not for other reason, the comments might serve as a place where links to various other posts dealing with definitions of limsup could be collected.
Duplicates can be useful.
