Thanks. It's for commercial purpose. I am hiring photograph who can arrange situational photos and photos of people (models) using product.

Royalty-free, unlimited commercial licence? That's all?

I don't need to ask for exclusive grant of rights? I don't need to have contract work mentioned?

@Boris_yo as long as you only care about being able to use the photos for any purpose and don't care what else the photographer does with them. If you want to restrict the photographers usage as well then you need either an exclusive license or to have the copyright, but both those options will generally cost significantly more

@AJHenderson Interesting. What you say implies that usually when any company is to use servicers of photographer, by default it is assumed that photographers can do something with photos too?

4:49 PM
Yes, in most jurisdictions the copyright belongs to the person taking the photo unless they are a regular employee working for the company
Or unless that type of relationship is explicitly stated

@penk we're sneaky like that
and btw, I don't have any ideas on a CRM for you, I just use IMAP and folders

yeah, i might end up doing somethign similar. thunderbird and gmail clients ftw i guess.
(I posted an ad on craigslist for wedding work, and I'm getting a reasonable amount of traffic on it. 1 wedding, which i'm doing tomorrow, 2 requests for engagement pics, and one family photo sitting. that's after... 3 weeks? 4? )

<neo> whoah. </>
so one of the customers contacted me to do an engagement shoot. we're discussing location, timing, etc. And then he says "Good, I plan to propose to her at (x location) at 6:45. can you be there for that?"
as far as i know, this is NOT a normal engagement shoot scenario :)

8:31 PM
helloo
@penk lol - hopefully the bride won't think you're some random weirdo photographing her!

yeah, i think i'm going to ask for payment ahead of time.
"Just in case."

@penk you have to run? :)

no, i can't imagine chasing after the guy who hiredme after his would-be fiance turned him down asking for payment for the shoot.
so, yeah, payment up front.

lol
hadn't thought of that
that must be such a horrible situation - being so sure they will say yes, so you ask them, and they say no...

9:15 PM
