@Boris_yo it really depends on what you want for the project, if models are involved, you probably need model releases and then you would likely need a contract that specifies it is contract work where you would have the copyright of the images if you don't want him to be able to use them
alternately, you could just ask for a non-exclusive grant or an exclusive grant of rights which would allow you (or only you in an exclusive) to use the images for the reasons you need, but could still allow him to make use of the images (which may be easier to get some photographers to go for since we're generally looking to maintain our portfolio and want at least some level of rights to the images we produce unless we are getting paid really good money

@MichaelNielsen Run-on sentences? What d oyou mean?
@AJHenderson So model release and exclusive grant of rights would be sufficient?

@Boris_yo what are you trying to accomplish?
you want to make sure you can use the pictures for any purpose and nobody else can?
@Boris_yo a run on sentence is a sentence that tries to express multiple ideas in one phrase

@AJHenderson Commercial purpose

4:58 PM
@Boris_yo do you mean you want to make sure YOU can use it for commercial purposes or that they can't?
if you just want to make sure you can use it for commercial purposes, all you need is an unlimited commercial use license
basically, a piece of paper saying you are authorized to use the images for any commercial purpose
without having to pay royalties
you also need similar releases from the models for their likeness
but it also depends on your location
as licensing and rights are not the same everywhere

afternoon folks. looking for advice on a CRM system for managing my customers / states / communications. Right now I'm doing it all in thunderbird, which.. not the best mechanism :) Any suggestions? I have 4 pending shoots right now and I'm starting to confused who I've quoted to, who I'm asking for directions from, and how much I've quoted to whom.
