I think it would help if we would respond more positively to questions like this one What photographer took this mid 20th-century color photograph?, treating it as a question about our field, not a technical image-recognition problem.

As you can see in the example, my scanned images have horizontal and vertical lines across them. They are very noticeable in dark areas of the image. The original print is a 4x6 matte finish print. Scanned using a very basic HP PSC 1210 - 600 x 2,400 dpi scan resolution, 19,200 dpi interpolated, ...
i see it all the time... like when people ask me to put together slideshows for weddings from old pictures
they scan them, send them to me, and they have these lines across them
i always get roped into helping put together slideshows for family/friends because i am a photographer - even though they really are completely different lol
@rfusca i saw that message...what's the issue you want him to resolve? (i'm thinking if it's a bug of some sort, it's probably best to write a meta post so there's a record of it, then i can make sure he heads over to meta to respond)
they told us we could accept different aspect ratios for the PotW, as long as its the same height. But it looks like it would throw the text off and look funky then. We just wondered if it could be right aligned if that was necessary. I'll drop a meta.
yeah, meta's probably the way to go...if for some reason jin stops doing site design for us, it'd be nice for whoever replaces him to have a record of the conversations had between the community and jin
