2:21 AM
Morning :)

hey there...wish to pick up for a little while at least?

I don't mind, up to you :)

I'm game for a little while at least

Well then.
((Did I figure out which way turns easier while trying to use forceful to turn the wheel?))

((I'd say yeah :)

2:28 AM
Noyze contemplates the wheel again, smiling as he figures out which way the wheel would turn, then quickly tries to wrench the wheel again

((brb))

((Trying again using Quick approach, +3))
((okie doke))

((back))

The wheel spins momentarily then halts -- clearly, whoever tightened this down has some serious mechanical advantage
((is Noyze trying to operate the wheel from the ground btw?))

2:32 AM
((Noyze... Must be. He never climbed anything lol))
((Wow, my +3 approach was nullifyed by a -2 roll... :\ ))

... or perhaps Noyze is at a mechanical disadvantage? The wheel is rather high off the ground...

Nyoze looks at the wheel, then over towards the ladder. Climbing the ladder and coming much closer to the wheel, he attempts to spin it one more time.
((Clever this time, since I climbed up to it. +1 ))

Wow...
These dice hate me lol

2:39 AM
Noyze feels his shoulders creak and his arms and legs ache as the wheel grudgingly turns, but then loosens up for him. His feet seem to recoil at being planted against bare metal, as well

Grimacing with the metal at his feet, he continue turning the wheel, hoping to have some sort of reaction now that the wheel is loose

The wheel turns fully, but at a price. He can feel what he's standing on begin to move...

Noyze gives the wheel one more quick turn before jumping from the ladder and rolling along the ground, before turning and looking up towards the results of his handiwork

Noyze hears a "clank!" coming from beside him as he hits the dirt, then no further sound. Returning to where he was...the thing that the wheel was attached to has shifted a good number of centimeters

((Shifted a good number of centimeters, like a door opening, or just a wheel extending from the wall like a screw?))

2:44 AM
((neither. the whole object the wheel was attached to moved))

((So like, the entire train started moving? That... Is not what I expected.))
Noyze heads out along the side of the object, looking to see what is at the other end that had moved

((not quite the entire train :) ))
The other end of the object the wheel was attached to has moved basically the same distance

Noyze looks around for any sort of wood or material that he can use to fashion a pole and something to stand on

Noyze finds a variety of things, but many of them are metal, and many others are simply not budging very well, even though they are wood

Giving up on his search, Noyze continues to walk, looking for the end of the objects coupled together

2:58 AM
He finally comes to the end after a bit of walking. The ribbons of steel stretch on from the end of the coupled objects, and another set of coupled objects can be seen a few hundred meters down the way

Putting his long legs into action, Noyze starts running parallel to the steel tracks, looking for some sign of anything other then this giant contraptions polluting the landscape

Noyze sees nothing else for a while, until he comes to the end of what he's running beside, running past a few sheds and over a road until the ribbons begin to bend toward him

3:25 AM
((Sorry, work :( ))

((np -- you want to wrap this up tonight, or pick it up next time?))

((I'm happy either way. Wrap it up for today and pick it up later maybe? I don't mind))
Noyze stops when he reaches the sheds, and starts to look through them, searching for any clue of what is going on

The sheds are all locked

Noyze was getting frustrated, and seeing no one around, picked the nearest shed and raised his foot, attempting to smash through the door

3:37 AM

Lets see... Forceful is +1. then +1 from the dice is +2?

The door isn't exactly made of the typical flimsy wood of an interior door, or even the planks of an exterior door. Instead, like the rest of the shed, it's made of metal, and naught but shakes slightly in the frame ((aye, but this is a really hard one))

((Can I cast a spell to use forceful and Quick in one roll? As in stepping back a few steps, then casting cheetahs sprint to try and crash through?))

((go right ahead :))

Noyze takes a few steps back, and chanting for a moment, a silver glow shines around his feet. Focusing for a moment, he bull-rushes straight at the door attempting to burst through

3:46 AM

Noyze damages the door significantly, to the point where the lock and latch fail and the door rebounds open slightly as he recoils

Kicking the door open, Noyze shines a light ahead of him as he moves through the now open portal, looking around

He finds racks full of equipment, various lights staring and blinking back at him from the shed's dark interior. A faint sulfurous odor wafts up from some block-like things under a rack at one end of the shed, and there are some shelves mounted to the walls of the shed that bear more equipment, as well as yet more stuff attached to the shed's walls. A spiderweb of thick wire connects it all, none of it seemingly different from any of the rest

A frown crossed Noyze's face as he stood facing the interior. All this metal around was an affront to nature, and one he would not stand to sit by and watch. Conjuring a flame in his hand, he focused on the odour coming up from the rack at one end of the shed. He recognised that smell. That was the smell of fire and brimstone, the smell that had caused so much pointless death. Focusing on that smell, he aimed and let loose, turning and sprinting back out the door as the flame left his hand.

((I'm almost debating whether to have the spell work too well :o thoughts?))
((aaah, screw it :) ))

((Too well is always a good thing lol))
((I'm liking this Shoot-First druid... I might have to expand on the concept a bit. Maybe run a nature sorc or something that burns anything that might look like it's unnatural, having devastating consequences))

Noyze doesn't even get as far as throwing the fireball. It instead "poof!"s in his hand, a wave of invisible singing heat washing over him for a split-second as this happens. The lights continue to blink, and the sulfurous odor persists, though -- whatever happened didn't transfer enough heat to much of anything else to do anything significant

((That... Didn't work the way I planned.))

4:06 AM
((he successfully lit something on fire :) just not what he was expecting to ))

That was it... There was only one thing left to do. Noyze stepped into the dark outside, and raising his arms to the sky, began to chant in a strange foreign language. As he chanted, clouds began to form in the sky, a torrential rain pouring down and drenching everything nearby

The rain poured down, albeit with seemingly no consequence on anything else going on. Water ran into gutters and gurgled into drains as this happened

With a final call, a lightning bolt launched from the clouds, aiming towards the metal tracks along the ground

A few sparks flashed through inert gasses as the bolt struck the tracks, but other than the faintest of sparking sounds audible to someone alert in the shed, nothing happened

((Dammit... I just can't destroy them...))

4:14 AM
in the meantime, though, far away, voices started to pipe up "Patrol 9?" "'Spatcher, this is Patrol 9, over" "Patrol 9, I have a door alarm at Birdwood, could you check on it for me please, over?" "'Spatcher, Patrol 9 to Birdwood for a door alarm, over" "That is correct, 'spatcher out"

Noyze is getting more and more frustrated. He focuses on the ground below the shed, willing the earth to be pushed aside as a large pit appears below the building, the dirt and grit clouding the air as he turned and focused his attention to the voices

4d6

((Next time I'm taking Forceful +3 on any magic caster...))

((the voices aren't something he'd be able to hear -- "far away" is radio traffic))
The spell seemed beyond him, as if his frustration was clouding his mind...

4:17 AM
((Ignore the voices then, just cast expeditious excavation under something.))

((got it))

Dropping his head in his hands, he sat on the ground and looked around at his surroundings. Nothing seemed to make sense, all he wanted was to get back to his forest. Pausing for a moment, he pulled the crude map he was given out of his pocket and examined it more carefully, trying to make any sense of it

The map seemed to lead him further to the south...

Climbing to his feet, he looked once more at the sheds, then picked up and headed off in the direction of the map.

He comes to more steel ribbons...many of them in parallel now

4:25 AM
((brb))

4:37 AM
((and I have to bail myself -- will catch you next time :) ))

See ya.
