a local photographer that's sponsored by Sony and has a massive following organized it. Probably about 8 models and 50 photographers. It was a bit much honestly, I don't think even he was expecting such a large turnout
Anybody here know how to compress a PDF with like a slider or some tool which produces many compressed versions of a PDF?
I've got a problem where i often have to scan to PDF and then compress the image to be uploaded to websites. Problem is that they usually have very low max file sizes
Ofcourse, the text still has to be legible. The way i do it right now is to try different PDF compression websites and see if any of their outputs can come below the threshold and still be readable. That and fiddling with "save as optimized PDF" settings in acrobat. Problem is that it's very cumbersome, even for the optimized PDF settings you gotta try dozens of quality levels to get something that fits
I'm looking for a tool that'd sorta either give you a slider or just produces dozens of PDFs of various sizes at once
So far the skill of design has only been intuitive to me, but just learning from tutorials doesn't give you the full view of the many technical issues, which I'm very eager to learn. What can I do to learn this side of the graphic designing?
For instance, a tutorial would say to adjust a cert...
Just now when trying to upload an image with the image uploader I'm greeted intermittently with the following error:
Failed to upload image; imgur is rejecting the request
That error comes from the POST on http://meta.stackexchange.com/upload/image?https=true

@Vincent I'm good...cold. I left the cafetiere on the hob and it shmelted. So now I have to replace it before my sister finds out I destroyed my xmas gift lol
working on some type concepts but they're not really working thus far...
@ZachSaucier it was flagged as not constructive and it really isn't. So I don't see validation in your accusation of mod power abuse. What overall factor does that comment add? Couldn't someone argue that your comment is opinionated? Also, comments are temporary by themselves.
that's where the community should help maintain the site. Unless a comment adds value to an answer or question it's left. Your comment is neither and is not constructive so I dont understand the issue?
@ZachSaucier not really talking about the question I thought we were talking about your issue with the removal of the comment.
A mod's responsibly cannot be to solely close all off-topic questions on the site. That has shown to be an issue in the past. If the community see's it as off-topic they should vote to close it. Since the question has received answers it could be argued that others do not agree with your view.
@ZachSaucier that could very well be possible but also from another standpoint the community had two days to close the question before the bounty could be placed on it.
@ZachSaucier how so, right now the only person raising the issue is yourself but on the same point the community said your comment wasn't constructive so we removed it =P
@ZachSaucier what difference does it make if my answer in your mind proves your point? Your comment is in no way related to my answer its just you saying you think it should be closed. How is that constructive to my answer?
Comments don't give us the place to discuss or allow others to see and discuss your proposal
that would be an abuse of power if you comment asking for a bounty to be removed from someone elses question and I just said, "hmm okay lets make this person lose their rep"
I have no problem with letting people know that here is a perfectly valid place to seek help. If anything these questions ONLY because of my answer could go to Meta. But being that the answers can be any number of other things in addition to here I think they're perfectly on topic
But that's another issue entirely than you claiming a mod abused their powers
Anyhow. I'm getting back to work, ping me if you need anything but sounds like this is resolved via @DᴀʀᴛʜVᴀᴅᴇʀ
@ZachSaucier I dont even see why flagging it? There is even a rejection for that issue. If you have an issue with the answer you downvote it and explain why you downvoted in the comments. Unless I'm missing something but that's what I was always led to believe
The moderators have a menu to remove / refund the bounty, so this is no longer an issue. Flag such things for moderator attention as the moderators have all the tools necessary to deal with this now.
I'm surprised at how much you guys don't know SE stuff like this :P
@ZachSaucier SE provides zero guidance to moderators. We get a letter asking us to abide by some policies when we're elected. No further links or guidance or anything is provided to us
I call bull on that. That comment is out of line. We do a lot and know a lot and assist this site more then you think and for you to say "3 instances in this chat that dealt with how SE works that one of you wasn't aware of" I guarantee you we know and knew about. If we need to reference documentation we would ask on meta or seek another Q&A or the other provided alternatives.
Regardless, your comment on the question was flagged and we did our duty to remove it as others saw it not constructive. If you do not like that tough.
I hope so because from reading the above I somewhat take you don't. I already well knew about bounties on closing questions, I've already done it several times I do not need a lesson explaining how.
