what happens when I play in the lab

wow i love that!

I'll probably make a tutorial on it in the next day or two
I might actually try to animate it
pretty sure I can

yeah that would be cool. Looks similar to the image I asked you about before actually
with the statue glitch art thing

yeah once you said glitch art I remembered
(before you said glitch art I had no clue)
I think if you read my Lab primer you could make what I made

yeah i thought that alright, i thought your answer was a fun read. you could write a book like that
much more engaging than the usual tutorial articles

2:32 AM
yeah except if I put too much of that on my website the chance of getting a teaching job at a school might go down hahaha

haha or up! you never know

2:53 AM
I meant to say to you earlier...if you ever wanna collaborate on illustration stuff @Ryan that would be cool. I'd like to do some surreal floral illustrations though I don't have any references of my own really. Could credit you or include you on a behance if you ever wanna work on something together

Q: How do GFX Designers make these type of designs?

Matt BWhat is involved in creating the following images? What programs and resources would guide an average-user/newbie to being able to produce images similiar to these? I would greatly appreciate any URLs to tutorials on this kind of work, or tutorials for 'foundations' that lead to this kind of wor...

Random. 21 minutes ago someone asked a very broad question and minutes later someone else posted a relatively decent response, as their first answer
@johnp yeah maybe. Talk another time though. I'm going to rest my eyes

cool, g'night!

Thats a hell of an answer @Ryan !
Thanks :D

12:41 PM
@Cai sure thing. hopefully you don't downvote it for being too long :X

Cai
Haha. No you got a +1
Had a look quick for Brain Games. Isn't on Netflix here and the YouTube channel isn't available here!

don't see full episodes but has some interesting stuff there. Pretty sure a little resourcefulness could get you the full episodes...
I mean purchasing a DVD of course :D

Of course ;-)

Q: Grass area blown out with sunlight, turns brown when reducing highlights; what to do?

PenegalI regularly take RAW outdoor photos, and I encounter a annoying problem on post processing: on photos containing grass with both shadows and areas with direct sunlight, I can't recover blown out areas without them turning to posterized beige areas. It seems that these areas are beige because t...

guess what I'd use lol

2:03 PM
is my icon red?
ive got nice toys at my new work

It's Magenta

ah yes... I now have several 4Dmark 3s sitting in my office and a 4 cintixes
Mainly because My new job is to lend equipment to art students.

2:21 PM
@ZachSaucier sigh. Let me see whats going on. Are they spamming or just appears to have created two?
made an attempt to reenter the Photo SE since launching the tutorials... already getting bitched at yet again.

@Ryan just made 2

2:37 PM
@ZachSaucier seems I have no idea how to merge accounts. Might be something mods just tell users and they have to do themselves. That sounds right. @JohnB to the rescue

3:13 PM
@Ryan You would contact SE staff and inform them but it would courteous to send an email to them informing not to make duplicate accounts.
or that is what I've done in the past
also happy september!

happy not having to work monday!

same!
might take tomorrow off even

@Ryan we have no power there
mods used to be able to merge accounts but they took that away
standard response procedure is to point them to graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/contact, there's an option for it "I need to merge user profiles"
I wish we could disallow unregistered accounts :\

@JohnB second that

@ZachSaucier Your comment not necessary. I think I clearly mentioned it was fine to close it. Put "little effort" is subjective and I wouldn't have posted if I did not first try to "investigate" on my own. BUT if you wanted to comment just to scratch that itch, ok. — ErickP 33 mins ago
:sigh: that's what I get for trying to defend him some

5:22 PM
I don't know what that question has to do with Style Identification
If anything perhaps too broad, but some simple answer like, "This type of effect can be with Javascript or Processing" (assuming thats right, I really have no idea) would be enough of an answer and useful
But yeah, you did nothing wrong and I commented to let him know that

@Ryan "point in the right direction" seems like a style ID to me

even if that were the case other than not having a screenshot directly in the question where does it fail to meet our style id guidelines?

I'd say also "Detail what you've attempted already to try and identify the style you are interested in"
Like I mentioned in the comment, it seems low effort regardless of how much effort he actually put into it

okay, that seems like a downvote reason which it currently has +2/-3
I could see close for too broad but I don't really get the whole style id thing :\ thats my take on it anyways
I'm interested in the answer

@Ryan I hope that's not what makes you keep it open :P

5:30 PM
right now it has 2 different close reason and a split number of upvotes and downvotes. I wouldn't close it at this point even if I didn't care about the answer

goo.gl/Az7L6w looks like no effort to me

you knew to include Javascript. Perhaps he didn't
I wouldn't have
What seems easy to you isn't to everyone else

I understand that, but it's the one front-end logic that we have for the web
there are lots of ways to figure that much out, especially if he has the page open like he does
I'm sure with some googling you could figure that out

have you seen how many different ways I've answered how to remove backgrounds

@Ryan who's fault is that? :P

5:34 PM
My point is if its so easy for you then you could help people out because its not for others. Even "Inspecting" the page which is what I assume you are implying by having it open isn't easy for all of us

that's again not my point. My point is that the question shows no effort

what effort would you like?
they said they tried to find it with no luck and they took a screen recording of it

some type of inclusion of what he searched for

okay, so why not just ask him what he searched for?
"What did you try searching for?" is less effort than what you wrote

6:02 PM
@Ryan
This is also my new favourite page: facebook.com/BorkBorkBorkf

6:21 PM
yes! saved!

6:50 PM
the fruits of yesterday's screen printing

wow looks great @JohnB
you make a sauce?

thank you! Yeah I do every year, grow peppers and make sauce with them
though I didn't grow any this year because I moved, but I had lots still stocked up from last year's harvest

very cool :)
so is it like a little business thing or just for fun

just for fun, I give it to friends who are crazy enough to want to consume a sauce as spicy as I make it

haha nice

6:56 PM
screen printing on glass bottles is frustrating but comes with a silver lining, if you screw it up you can just wipe it off and try again :)

ah not so bad then! i would like to try it with fabric sometime

that is much less forgiving
screw it up and you're stuck with a misprint

though from what ive sceen screenprinting seems to lend itself to posterized type graphics which is something i dont have much experience with
im a messy shadey person :P

doing a bunch test prints on news or scrap paper before doing the run is highly advised
you caaan do CMYK screen printing but it is not a beginner type of activity

yeah ill try it out sometime i guess.

7:00 PM
you need expensive equipment to set the registration

the equipment ive seen for professional tshirt design looks very fancy and complicated
yeah
i want to try spoonflower to see what it's like for surface design and textile stuff
im still looking for ways of making money from drawing pretty pictures without starving :P

but then you wouldn't be a starving artist!

i can do one of those 2 on/1 off day diets, it'll be fine :3

Hey folks!
The 3D Graphics proposal isn't dead (yet)
In an effort to revive it, I'm sharing the link on other forms. Here is the link on the 3D Graphics reddit. Uv's will help it get read :)
^^That message is starrable, for extra effect ;)

@GiantCowFilms done!

thanks :)

committed to since I hadn't already

Q: How do I progress my design aesthetic beyond the linear minimalist style i use for everything?

WorkInProgressI love the clean style but I feel like whenever I'm given a design project I research and I see all of these templates with these cool diagonals and curves. I want to utilize the style but I feel like I am stealing. The line between stealing and be inspired by is a very grey area to me. So I pani...

10:27 PM
@Ryan That helps too :)

dont get too excited, it says I have to confirm some email and I haven't gotten said email.
