I've never tried Starbuck's cold brew, but I'll hazard a "no" on general principle.
I make my own cold brew: coffee grounds soaked in cold water for (ideally) 24 to 36 hours, then the grounds are filtered out (or use a tea strainer to hold the grounds so you can just take that out).
It's a much smoother flavour, less bitter and less acidic.
When I'm feeling fancy, I put turmeric, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and cloves in with the grounds.
wow that sounds really good. I tried it only because a friend ordered it and hated it, I couldn't even finish that monstrosity. Tasted more bitter than hot brewed coffee, quite nasty.
Don't worry about the kind of beans; we use Maxwell House or Uban, whichever is being sold in bulk at the warehouse store.
An expensive coffee bean is designed to handle the boiling water well; if you're not boiling it, the bean's ability to boil well doesn't matter.
Oh, and ratios: folks differ wildly. Between two and four cups of water for every one cup of grounds is about the range.
I lean toward the "less coffee, more water" end of things, partly because I tend to make a lot and leave my grounds in the water for several days as I drink it.
No just handheld camera and macro. It was a bit of dark day i could have used that. And offcourse the bug could have been better if id had a polarizer Or then not...
