@DA. you there?

DA.
@matt hey

Wouldnt suggestiong him going SVG be better?
thought about adding it as an answer

DA.
SVGs are great as they are already retina-ready.
Alas, not all browsers support it yet.

agreed.. I would suggest the PNG fall back

DA.
So, that's the only caveat. But yea, in general, if SVG makes sense, that's always preferred.

I read your comment and noticed no one suggested it.

@Scott ever record audio?

2:17 PM
@Matt to what end? I mean I've done tutorials with audio. I've monkey'd around with my guitars and Garage Band. If your'e talking podcast or something.. not really.

2:27 PM
i have done a tiny bit of audio

2:43 PM
hi all

greetings
@Scott recording audio for an app
im stuck with this CSS issue.. I have no sympathy for dude since he spammed SO though.

ah, the css Q?
sry for te flag, I understood it was that Q you were talking about after I flagged it.

no its cool. it really should be moved since it would get better answers on SO but cant help that the OP is banned

yeah, but that means we're stuck with it. Ah, looks like Dom has a good idea.

if you guys want to vote for it to be moved then do so.. Yisela suggest helping so I'm not going to go against that but if the community votes for it to be moved than thats what will happen.

2:57 PM
I'm... on the fence. I do agree with Dom that css execution questions are on-topic
and I would really like it if there were some css Q&A's on a nice community

3:12 PM
@Matt you mean creating an app... or an app to record audio? WireTap Studio is good for recording almost any audio (but not editing it).
I think... if your Q is off-topic... and you're banned where it is on topic.... well it should just be closed :) But I ain't no moderator and I seem a more strict in my thinking of what is on topic :)
It is a fine line though. I feel if I'm asked how to code something, it's SO. If I'm asked how to change the way something looks.. then it's GD. If I'm asked how to make something work better, then it's UX in many cases.

3:27 PM
@Scott recording audio to be played in an app

Nope, out of my area @Matt

3:45 PM
hey
are u here?
beep

4:13 PM
@Scott does it actually scrolls through all the fonts?
3
A: Checking through different fonts quickly

WillowWhat program are you using? Because in Photoshop (maybe other Adobe programs as well, I'm not too sure), you highlight your text, click inside the font chooser box and then whilst your text is still highlight (don't click anything at this point) put your mouse anywhere you want on the page and us...

Yes.. for Photoshop.

I cannot scroll through the all the fonts, there is some group like R-S or A to C or without any law... any way I cannot jump from one "group" to another"
But in Ai?
" Only Illustrator CS6 (v16) or newer will do this on a Macintosh."
I CANT
urghhh

Uhm.. slow down... if you set some text, highlight it, place your cursor int the font menu, then hit the down arrow, the font doesn't change?

changes twice
let say two fonts
If i use another "group" by click :( - i can scroll another group of 5 or 6 font by not just all the collection

That sounds like it's due to font encodings.. by "group" you mean there's a line in the font menu, yes?

4:23 PM
no
it is unpredictable
hard to believe that encoding is the issue

Show me a screen shot of your font menu....

they follow alphabetical manner

No lines separating them???

Like that ^^

4:25 PM
only 1
line for hundreds
hhh
what is that ?

I don't understand "hundreds' or hhh"

click is ok
I mean the image is very smal

Do you have horizontal lines between the font names. Click the image (I'm not using a retina display)

no

You're highlighting the text, right?

4:30 PM
yes
exactly like you
and press down arrow

yup.. If you've got AIv16 or better... I'd trash my preferences if it wasn't working. It should work just like that gif.

but can you scroll through all the font collestion?
collection

Until it hits one of those horizontal lines. Can't scroll past those
Which is why I asked about those

I have only 1 horizontal line
:(
MBP issue

Some fonts may be an issue.. Perhaps poorly made fonts. I'd note where the scrolling stops and see what the next font in the list is... then see what those anti-scroll fonts all have in common (like all true types or something)

4:34 PM
that s funny
cannot realize what the issue is

If you can scroll at all.. then it has to be an issue with the fonts where scrolling stops.

hm
no way to solve this out

I honestly never use that feature anyway :)

thank for help :)
got me crazy

no problem.

5:09 PM
you're right
the problem is with the font where the scrolling interrupts
@Scott
if the scrolling stops I cannot choose the following font
I should jump by mouse

5:35 PM
Then those may be poorly constructed fonts.

What do you mean " poorly constructed "

6:23 PM
Not all font creators do a wonderful job. Fonts are software, and just like any software, they can have gaps of functionality missing, bugs, etc.
Free fonts are notorious for being thrown together and not always being reliable,.

@Scott hey some anonymous person just tried editing your Answer with weird stuff about you stalking them or something.
Why you gotta be testing his sanity like that? You're a monster!
