12:08 AM
@Ryan shhhhhhhhhhhhh... he slipped up. Don't make the same mistake :)

12 hours later…
12:27 PM
@Ryan that....is...bizarre

12:50 PM
@JohnB bizarre in the least...!

morning
I was browsing After Effects tutorials this morning and discovered Cinema4D Lite is included in AE.CC. Now I've got a new toy to play with this morning

@Matt I think you missed the mark on the Pantone part of that question

??

they're asking about coated vs uncoated

oh.. whoops..

1:05 PM
figured you misread it :P

Pantone produces a brighter color... no?

dang updating Cinema4D Lite for the first use is going to take 45 minutes on our slow work internet

@JohnB is that better?

I'll check it in a bit, working on my own answer

@JohnB NNOOOOO lol

1:16 PM
you're delusional if you thought I wasn't going to weigh in on a (probably) screen printing question :)

hi everyone

hi

hey

sup?

trying to update after effects. it just failed so had to start over :(

1:20 PM
ack
anyone have suggestions for a good backup app? I'd like to have some additional security next to the external HD and DVD backups I do manually

you looking for cloud storage or physical storage?

mainly cloud. planning on getting a couple new external HDs and thumbdrives for some more physical

@JohnB I know.. . I was actually shocked you hadnt already posted up
sup VIncent
@Bakabaka I prefer a NAS for this..

hi @Matt
a NAS?
National Agent Security? :P

1:30 PM
whistles expensive

and it failed again

argh

ya kind-of.. I use my old computers since it seems I renew every 2 years

I'm past that renewal schedule, and I'd like some security

@Ryan is it the update?

1:31 PM
I'm looking into a couple external HD's.

yeah, actually it might be the English Documentation failing so I'm going to try without that.

if you go external get one that will support RAID1

the update is only 133kb, the documentation is 430mb
yep, removing the documentation and it worked instantly

@Matt thx
any good cloud experience? DropBox? Drive?

anytime man. let me know
GoDaddy

1:35 PM
ewwwwwww

google will give you 30gb now stock

@Ryan eh? why?

I would never, ever use GoDaddy

I use them for DOMAINS.
cloud isnt bad.
if you need to go .net only one I know of is Godaddy

hm, I just need a good place to put my backups of design work for customers

1:38 PM
Didn't like GoDaddy years ago, certainly don't like them now that they supported SOPA and also were found inflating domain name prices

google drive

Just full of advertisements and attempts to upsell you all over GoDaddy, with terrible tech support / cust svc

Drive looks quite ok, i ndeed

I recommend A Small Orange over GoDaddy

lol

1:39 PM
I use Google Drive all the time to transfer files. Never really store stuff on there. I don't like storing stuff on the cloud though

if you go drives go with either WD reds or blacks

googles
muchos graçias, gents. This helps a lot! :D

1:57 PM
This is a great tutorial on the creative process in general for anyone interested: motionographer.com/2014/07/18/best-tutorial-ever

this to me isn't a "silhouette style" at all graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/36275/…
is there a better name for that style we can give it?
I would just call it greyscale vector style but I'm not very creative

@JohnB 'not very creative'? What are you doing here, then?! :P

I snuck in!

used your dazzling charm to get past the bouncer?
'greyscale stylisation'?

that sounds better

2:08 PM
or grayscale stylization, whatever

im gonna bounce. that tutorial video i linked has me inspired to get to the grind
later all

see ya

see ya, Ryan

later

1 hour later…
3:36 PM
Hm, I haven't heard anything about the swag we were promised. Any of you?

nope

ok
then it's not me :)
