Q: Feedback on these buttons?

I started a tiny CSS framework recently. (http://minfwk.com if anyone's interested) I quickly banged out an initial design for some buttons. After asking for feedback on UX StackExchange (and receiving lots of good feedback), I was recommended to come here for additional advice on improving them....

flat style or metro style is the plain color, usually white text on top style

something that I think is "revolutionary" (sort of) is the concept of one OS for all devices

if you consider it's exactly the same in a tablet, a phone or a computer, they did a very nice job

but I think it's tablet first, so there are annoying things happening all the time, like you open an image or a video and it goes straight to fullscreen

this is insane, we work with dictation, and a group is "training" the speech recognition engine to understand words... so a guy behind me is reading a whole Edgar Allan Poe book out loud

Q: How to create a picture like this

I am a newbie in making pictures and animations. I have found a nice .svg picture on wikipedia and now I am assuming what tools the author used. I know that I can make this picture with Microsofts' paint or gimp too, but I am searching for an tool that is easily to use for making such animations.

I'm thinking questions like this would be better served by a single question asking along the lines of "How to tell if an image was likely created in vectors or raster?" That we could just redirect people to. We have questions about "What is Vector/Raster" but none that I saw to help people determine which is which.
