On the other I broke a USB port (twice) and more or less fixed it the first way I suggested, since it wasn't covered by the warranty the first time

HP is... interesting.

They do make some nice units.

But their mainstream consumer products are usually crap.

Mine was so heavily sabotaged by Beats it wasn't funny.

Turn off the equaliser? Here, let's turn the bass way down and treble way up so you can tell that the equaliser sounds better!

Oh, and let's reset it on every reboot and at random times too!

Even the bloody hardware was sabotaged.

@allquixotic quick question. If I had to go fully mobile with internet LTE 4G or whatever , and needed about 200MB a month. Using a dongley like network adapter into a desktop pc, that say a telecom might provide. Which service(s) shoul i check first in the US (actually california) or how would that go where you are?
