I have files that I need to send to several different international locations. They're confidential files, so I need them to be password protected. Therefore, I was putting the files on a CD and mailing them to the different locations. I had used iZarc, so I could password protect them. Some ...
Uhh yea they are doctors and nurses and office assistants , were you expecting rocket science :-)
Not sure i even want my doctor to know how to spend the whole day un-raring password protected files.
If possible the item you would hand to regular peoples , would self extract , have all the parts and pieces built-in, not require net connects and port forewards, and have only the one hurdle of entering the password.
Piece of cake un-raring a tar file, that was Larked in 141 pieces, with folders in zips :) sure easy for you, it really did take me a whole day to reassemble the first 3 gig file from some of the crasy geeks out there.
I was like Duude , mail it to me :-)
If i was securing thier computers, they wouldn't even be able to open a zip file passed off via a e-mail attachment, without permission from the head surgeon.
that would do it.this user did not describe the content. self extracting self running videos, slideshows, "readers" , or Excell files , and DOCx or whatever.
He didnt indicate any other huge problems so i suspect what is protected is simple and not a CAD building file for portable hospital wings :-)
cool digital , what kind of pic format did they use, and resolution?
Did you ever see anything in them for the dog that shows stuff? at times i have wanted to get x-ray of the dog to see how many bones are poking through things :-) and how many undigested parts might be in there .
I have some files I was given by my teacher at University, I could chase him up, but I may as well try getting blood from a stone, his response rate isn't great and I completed my degree a year ago!
They're pdf files stored inside password protected zip files. The passwords are networking relate...
then some sort of self extracting "installer" single executable not "installer package" dependant. I know that exists, would not know how to do it though.
it is rediculous to have to get some stuff online though in a case like that , from some securty company , to get a key bs or anything, might as well send it armoured car.
Ahh en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… 1/2 way down has the summary of the security "##Data corroboration, including the use of check sum, double-keying, message authentication, and digital signature may be used to ensure data integrity"
Damn cold just got a lot more complicated
Makes me happy i have not seen a doc or a hospital in 20 years.
Find those records :-)
I cant find specific mail it as files stuff yet, so much of it is about the web.
But just reading through some of that, it would be no wonder to see them use a bonded currier
courier
Great comment, the question needs 2 laywers , a malpractice attourney, security technical advisor, legaslative authority , and a note from obama.
Penalty: Covered entities and specified individuals who "knowingly" obtain or disclose individually identifiable health information A fine of up to $50,000 Imprisonment up to 1 year.
Steal your car drive drunk into a crowd of people, 30 days in detox :-)
or try to use an undelete tool to recover files... could be you haven't lost very much, since a quick format only writes to a small portion of the partition
Not to be confused with SuperDrive, a trademark used by Apple Computer for various disk drive products.
The SuperDisk, sometimes marketed as LS-120 and a later variant LS-240, is a high-speed, high-capacity alternative to the 90 mm (3.5 in), 1.44 MB floppy disk. The Superdisk hardware was introduced by 3M's storage products group (later known as Imation) circa 1997. Imation mainly sold Matsushita-built drives under the SuperDisk name; other companies tended to use the LS-120 name, and sold the Matsushita drives. (Matsushita was the registered name of Panasonic until 2008.) However, the system...
I'll probably get the 980 Ti, too. I just can't stand how infrequently AMD releases driver updates. I think they must have about 2 people working on their drivers now
superuser.com/questions/419496/… mister @bob your question is being linked to as a dupe of another. did you ever "solution" why your memtest and possibly system was accessing memory that doesnt exist , or whatever?
"This product detection tool installs software on your Microsoft Windows device that allows HP to detect and gather data about your HP and Compaq product . . . bla bla bla
One path that can often be different, is to instead of going support, to go back to sales first. Product home page. then from there.
From there I am getting (what might be) a better troubleshooting thing.
Click 'HPSupportSolutions…msi' in the lower-left corner of the browser window •If a File Download Security Warning appears, click 'Run' to install the framework. •If User Account Control appears, click 'Yes' to install the framework.
soo is it .NET program too , or do they mean thier software framework.
Well i wasnt going to tell you that some people are having good results getting synaptic touchpad drivers direct from synaptics. Not sure you have enough hair to pull out :-)
@Bob Because a search of the web shows like nobody with that problem (not common), and it is assumed that the controller part on the ram module is causing some trouble, and because you tossed it :-) if you put an answer in that said "I tossed it" then it is done. it wasnt heat?
Right now the answer suggest something that probably isnt going to help when marked as a dupe.
Or even comment below the answer, I eventually tossed the ram , and now have no problem.
@Bob I did that once... Turns out MemTest was throwing errors because I had both sticks of RAM in different channels and my motherboard didn't like it.
I'm trying to figure out how to disable a linksys router on my home network, but I'm an idiot when it comes to networking...
I can login to my normal router (Verizon one), but no idea how to disable the linksys one from there (we use it as a switch for our gaming consoles in the living room)
I'm not sure if this is the best way to set it up. But it works for me with no performance issues over plugging directly into the modem.
As for an unsecured wifi signal from your Linksys? That's a bit strange if it suddenly started up... Could it have lost power and factory reset itself?
@Rachel Just read up a little... if you have no settings what so ever that you want to retain, by far the easiest thing to do is a factory reset, then unplug everything followed by plugging in just one of your computers to the lan side... login using default credentials and then disable wireless (or configure it - it will act like an access point after you have finished this), then set a static IP to something on your lan subnet (let me know if you need a bit more info), and then disable DHCP
as long as you then ONLY use the lan parts (don't use WAN/internet port), it will act just like a dumb switch with an added access point if you kept wireless on
after you change the LAN ip, you will have to reconnect... let me know if you need to know any more on that bit...
And, this is weird... went to meta.stackoverflow.com and it is showing 0 questions/0 answers, but 3k rep for me... trying to track down an old user here that I used to chat to... I feel like I am out of the club! got to get more active again...
ahh... meta.stackoverflow is now meta.stackexchange, and that is a different site/showing my SO exp... bloody hell, go away for a little while and everything changes :/
