1:03 PM
@JourneymanGeek There is also Lexia Readable

Has also been designed specifically for dyslexia. You can download it from www.k-type.com/ free for individual use. It has developed quite a bit over the last few months, although it still has some minor irregularities. It tries to avoid some possible dyslexic confusions (e.g. b-d) by using different shapes, and is broadly based on Comic Sans
Font received. Dyslexie Regular font only. If you pay you get Regular, Bold, Italic, etc ...

@JourneymanGeek That does look good. Have you tried contacting them?
Ah, yes, the dyslexiefont is the one I remember seeing. It's quite pretty even for us non-dyslexic folks.

1:22 PM
@terdon not really
actually not at all

Oh, well. De gustibus non est disputandum and all that.

@DavidPostill oh, this is dyslexie, not read regular.
Fat bottomed font ._.

@JourneymanGeek So "Publishing House Zwijsen has adopted the Read Regular typeface. The font will now continue as Zwijsen Dyslexie font." is a lie?
I'm confused ...
Hmm. "This site is currently in read-only mode; we’ll return with full functionality soon. "
"Follow @StackStatus or visit our status blog for more info." Nothing on either...
Is it just me? Or what?
chat is working but nothing else ...
"We apologize for any inconvenience, but an unexpected error occurred while you were browsing our site. It’s not you, it’s us. This is our fault. Detailed information about this error has automatically been recorded and we have been notified."

1:38 PM
Chat is on a different server and no, it's not only you.

@terdon That's good to know. The whole of SE seems to be down. That is very unusual...

@DavidPostill there's another font called dyslexie
the reason I like read regular is that the proportions weren't so arkward

@JourneymanGeek OK. I was only trying to help ;)

Its a natural mistake to make, its a font with a similar name, by another dutch typographer ;p

"We are investigating a database issue, updates soon."

1:47 PM
That's how I normally read on a PC

Nice font ;)

source sans pro

@JourneymanGeek I think I've been suspended from the main SE

@R.Doto No, its just broken
Unicorns got loose
We are investigating a database issue, updates soon.

@JourneymanGeek Phew. I thought the mods had finally had enough of me lol

1:54 PM
@R.Doto What makes you think they haven't?

@qasdfdsaq while we occationally petition for the powers to hellban someone, that's generally been disallowed ;p
@R.Doto Oh, you'd just get suspended for a year if that happens.
A decade if we ask someone higher up nicely
Typically by the time it gets that bad, you'd have some clue its happening

@qasdfdsaq Go play in your toilet
@JourneymanGeek oooo I see
!!oops

@DavidPostill I have that on half page size so the lines arn't so long. Maybe I should go portrait.

@R.Doto I would but it seems you're occupying it

2:01 PM
lol
guys, stop sniping each other kthx.

He tried to crucify me first!
!!snipe

@qasdfdsaq That didn't make much sense. Maybe you meant: snore

Close enough

@DavidPostill what's that marvelous font you're using (blue)
@qasdfdsaq it's free now

@R.Doto read the previous bits
Its called dyslexie
hm
@DavidPostill oh, helvetica works well too
I use that on the kindle

2:04 PM
@R.Doto A screenshot of the order page for Zwijsen Dyslexie font

but everyone knows about helvetica
@DavidPostill er, the order page for the dyslexie font ;p
Same name grumble different font

Guys, use a real font: Lucidia Console

@DavidPostill oh lol. It even said it in the title :D

I find your lack of context quite disturbing.

@DavidPostill thank you

Also, source sans mono is the ultimate dyslexic monospaced font.
tho droid sans mono comes close

@JourneymanGeek "I find your lack of context quite disturbing." was that addressed to me?

@qasdfdsaq wtf get that nasty teen pop out of here

Hey question: I'm trying to run my chatbot in a firefox session running over ssh on my VPS. Is there a way I can disconnect from that session and leave it still running servierside, perhaps so I can reconnect to that same session later?

I always found Calibri quite settling... Looks nice on the screen but not on paper haha

2:07 PM
@Daniel What OS

@DavidPostill no @Daniel it was aimed at ;p

Ubuntu 12.04 Server

@Daniel would screen work?

X2Go

possibly

2:08 PM
is this a graphical session?

VNC

I do have screen
It's a text-only server
But I have installed firefox and xauth and am forwarding x sessions over ssh

Bob
Just use the headless script.

"We are narrowing down the Windows Cluster issue affecting Stack Overflow." Let's all blame Windows again ;)

How do I run the headless script on my server?

2:10 PM
!!boberror

except it's Ubuntu
and the client is Mac
The only Windows involved between me and the server is the one my Wifi is coming in through

darn

SU is back up

and then it crashes again from the massive amount of people trying to see if it's up

@qasdfdsaq ew stop

HAMMERTIME!
HAMMERTIME!
@R.Doto That didn't make much sense. Use the !!/help command to learn more.

so @Bob
how do I run the headless script?
Because all I have is an Ubuntu 12.04 terminal session to work with unless I use X forwarding, and in that case it's not rally headless

@Daniel Well if you want to make it un-headless I've already given you two options
But tbh headless IS better, unless you want to run actual head sessions on the server for other reasons

I'd rather run actual headless, I just need to know how
like, give me a command to run inside the SO-chatbot-master directory

2:20 PM
I think @allquixotic said something about some angularjs agent or summin yesterday

Hmmm, not really sure what to do with that but ok

I like to pretend I know everything but I don't
If you want the step-by-step probably best wait for quixy

yeah

@Daniel The Zirak root had a readme telling you exactly what to do, just scroll down the page... github.com/Zirak/SO-ChatBot
Install phantomjs 2 (yes, it has to be 2 and above). Differs from platform to platform.
Install nightmare: npm install nightmare
Edit your credentials into run-headless.js
Hit the road: env DEBUG=nightmare node run-headless.js

I'm googling at the moment
ok

2:23 PM
oh phantomjs

well this is taking a while to install...

That's easy
That reminds me, I should install OpenStack

how do I install nightmare on Ubuntu?

npm install nightmare

Oh, it looks like I need to specify config.email = my email, but what's the syntax for setting a variable in js?
don't have npm
I got apt-get

2:27 PM
apt-get install npm

working...

Bob
@Daniel ...use the .config file. There's a .config.SAMPLE you can copy into it.

One line of many errors @qasdfdsaq Error: failed to fetch from registry: nightmare
OK @Bob, is it the run-headless.config.json?

Bob
yes.

I don't even think nightmare is needed
Actually I do

Bob
2:30 PM
@qasdfdsaq The script is based around nightmare.

kv4lq@server2:~/SO-ChatBot-master/SO-ChatBot-master$ env DEBUG=nightmare node run-headless.js

Did you install nightmare?

it says it failed to fetch from registry nightmare

It needs to stop failing

well duh

Bob
2:31 PM
!!tell Daniel google npm failed to fetch from registry

Oh. 12.04 is too old.
Oops
Yay for shitty ubuntu package management

OK so is there a repo that has it for apt-get?

Yes

ok what?

Bob
2:34 PM
@Daniel Try clicking the first link in those Google results.
Here, I'll even direct-link the answer:

I did

The first answer in the first question on that google
> I had this issue with npm v1.1.4 (and node v0.6.12), which are the Ubuntu 12.04 repository versions.

It looks like that version of npm isn't supported any more, updating node (and npm with it) resolved the issue.

First, uninstall the outdated version (optional, but I think this fixed an issue I was having with global modules not being pathed in).

sudo apt-get purge nodejs npm
Then enable nodesource's repo and install:

curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup | sudo bash -
sudo apt-get install -y nodejs

Does this mean that I need to install 'node source's repo'?
and if so then where is it?

Bob
sigh

2:36 PM
> Then enable nodesource's repo and install:

**curl -sL deb.nodesource.com/setup | sudo bash - **
sudo apt-get install -y nodejs

ok it's that enabling part I'm trying to figure out

There's three commands

oh gosh

Copy and paste them

I'm stupid
3
yes
!!trout @Daniel

2:37 PM
slaps @Daniel around a bit with a large trout!

thank you
and I need to install nodejs?
ok, npm seems to be working now
now errors yet, just warnings
ok so will env DEBUG=nightmare node run-headless.js start the bot?

Try it and see!

or should it be env DEBUG=nightmare ; node run-headless.js

Bob
@JourneymanGeek Strangely enough, the SSD shipped with "AUSSIE_POST" instead of "i-parcel" like the rest.
And it might actually arrive first (despite shipping a few days after the rest).
i-parcel always gets held up at customs

which SSD did you order?

2:39 PM
@Daniel Does it SAY env DEBUG=nightmare ; node run-headless.js? No? Then no. -_-

Please read the error message.

Your config is fux0xred

Bob
First line. Right there.
Then try creating the config file.

OK, but I'm looking at the module
kv4lq@server2:~/SO-ChatBot-master/SO-ChatBot-master$ ls run-headless.config.json
run-headless.config.json

Bob
2:42 PM
shrug gonna have to take it up with Zirak. I assume he tested loading it as a module.

My original commit had the line as var config = JSON.parse(fs.readFileSync('run-headless.config.json', 'utf8'));
That's tested and working fine with Cavil.

So I need to run var config...

Welp

I ran var config = JSON.parse(fs.readFileSync('run-headless.config.json', 'utf8')); and bash didn't like a `('

Bob
2:44 PM
...that goes in the JS file.

Just post your server username and password in here, I bet someone will log in and fix it for you somehow

Bob
Replace the require on the line setting the same variable.

which JS file? config?
and what require?

3 mins ago, by qasdfdsaq
Just post your server username and password in here, I bet someone will log in and fix it for you somehow

not happening @qasdfdsaq

2:48 PM
I wonder if I can keep nesting forever
Seems like it

Bob
@qasdfdsaq Please stop.

HAMMERTIME!

@Bob That's what she said

Bob
@qasdfdsaq You can take it over to the sandbox: chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/1/sandbox
(We've done this before. I think I have one nested enough to overflow a 1080-wide screen. But, yea, ended up doing that in the sandbox because it really kills the conversation flow...)

Well you might be experienced in this but I'm not. It's my first time! sobs

2:50 PM
OK, so here's what I've got now:

Bob
You can experience it too! (in the sandbox) :P

Wonder if you can overflow a 4k screen with scaling at 50%

Bob
I don't think we have a mod in here right now to cleanup/move to sandbox, so... yea.

And the spice conversation must flow

Bob
2:50 PM
Probably. You'll hit the chat throttle a few times though.
Speak of the devil little dog and he shall appear.

@qasdfdsaq gee, if only we had someone with a 4k screen....

@JourneymanGeek shrugs

(actually I switched over to my laptop since its late)

Bob
@JourneymanGeek The Stream? :)

no, the x220

Bob
2:51 PM
@Daniel Just grab the one here: github.com/Elusive138/SO-ChatBot/blob/…
That was tested working.
@JourneymanGeek That's more a :|
:P
Hm. s/1080-wide/1920-wide/
brainfart.

I think the thinkpad has one of those 1366x768 screens
as does the stream

Bob
ewwwww

lol
and its a corp model.

I love corp models

(so no BT, no camera, cheapest wifi card option)
cheap tho

2:53 PM
Corp models are the only ones that actually allow you to pick all the features I want

OK here's using Elusive138's run-headless.js:

!! should I buy a new monitor

under a grand, when the retail models were 1.5k at the least

@Bob All signs point to yes

Bob
:D

2:53 PM
(GPU + LTE + AC + Fingerprint + TPM + Touchscreen)

@qasdfdsaq oh, this is a crop model speced by someone else

Bob
though my wallet is more D:

Impossible to buy those features without a corporate contract, they flatout refuse to sell it to consumers

@Bob heh, I'm ordering the crossover once I have income again ;p

Bob
@JourneymanGeek I'm sure I've asked you a dozen times, but... crossover?

2:54 PM
@JourneymanGeek As in them hybrids? OR crossover monitor?

so what do I do with #<Nightmare> not having function setup?

@Bob Crossover cable!

@Bob @qasdfdsaq the korean 4k monitor I linked here a few times?
crossover's a brand

Bob
Oh.

Oh
Crossover brand straight (Non-Crossover) cable

2:56 PM
basically 4k at ~350usd, TN, VERY nice selection of ports, entirely redundant remote (maybe)

Bob
@Daniel ...hell if I know, never seen that before. You sure you've installed phantomjs?

(4 HDMI 2.0, one DP, one VGA @ 1080p)

Bob
4?!
That's more input sources than my freakin' TV

how do I tell which version of phantomjs I have?

lol at early GStink monitors that had one DP input and nothing else

Bob
2:57 PM

I've got stuff to do, I'll try again later guys

I'm giving up for breakfast

@qasdfdsaq most of the IPS/1440p monitors only had DVI DL.
@Bob yeah!
which makes it useful for me.

Bob
o.O
