@Bob the jury is out, but limited experiments have so far revealed that it being TSMC as opposed to Sammy is good, despite the die size difference. Could be something about the TSMC process that is better.

If you expected the GUI remain the same, you shouldn't have updated to a different version of Windows. It was made pretty damn clear what it would function like before they released it.

minimize, etc is a tiny bit smaller but you can make them as big as you want in XP

you cant in 8.1

because advanced appearance settings is gone in display properties

I can make all this whatever size I like

yeah ms office of new hides all this under one big office icon

including where the file menu would normally be

even the menu bar is now a bunch of tiny icons instead of a menu

I still find it hard finding the save button

That's 8 years old.

2007 was basically a trial run of the ribbon interface

2010 got it right

in XP practically everything is resizeable with registry or display properties - appearance/vistual effects

@3v0 The registry is not for playing though. If you can only change it from there, it's not really a user setting.
