I'm having second thoughts about my write()-in nomination; I may just return to being a chat troll and talking to my cgroup about /dev/snd/* instead of sleep()ing until this election process receives a SIGKILL

meh. /usr/sbin/work just reniced itself to -20 so I'll goto chat after my load factor drops down below 1 (single-core CPU sucks)

The answer: @allquixotic is too busy with work to take a moderator position.

@MichaelFrank renice is a command in Unix and Linux which sets the priority of a process. Lower numbers indicate higher priority.

The default is 0; under Linux, nice values may range from -20 to 19.

nice is a program found on Unix and Unix-like operating systems such as Linux. a CO2 or halon extinguisher should put it out. fuel without oxygen does not a fire make.

As a kid i was trying to get a lighter to work, by using a small butane tank to recharge it. Not understanding that they do not work when just charged because the fuel is cold. We were standing in an area that was sheltered by a group of trees. much of the small butane tank had escaped into the air, when the lighter finnaly worked . . . duhhh about 10foot ball of fire went off, mostly scaring , and singeing a bit of eyebrow and hair.

Q: how big is SAN and is it feasible to use it in home

I have seen this add for SAN and its looks cheap for 50TB storage. But i am not sure How big will that be. i mean can it be fit on my computer desk Can i sue with my normal desktop Is it will be very high power intensive for home user Can anyone please give throw some light on SAN

As far as I know it, is true that almost all the browsers can be pulling in multiple parts of a web page, like the pictures, with multiple connections made to the same servers. There are even tweaks for limitations on how many connections_Per_server in the windows system. Most every downloader will use multiple connections also even including multiple connections for the same file item (on big files).

Weird side notes: there were times when some of the tweaks for overdoing the number of connection to like 100 :-) would actually make loading way slower , as they all thrashed into eachother.

Q: How to find motherboard specs

I want to upgrade my sony vaio vpc-ej3s1r - install ssd instead of dvd drive. But I cannot find any information on its SATA interface speed so I cannot choose ssd model. Where I can find this specifications?

So far from what i have seen with sata it is all backwards compatable, and the faster stuff is still faster in the backwards compatable?

Yeah it would you want 6gbps for a good ssd. There is also 3 Gbps interfaces a ssd would quite handily saturate
