fyi, all fixed - the cron job was working fine... turns out I didn't have full path on echo / date, so it wasn't reporting... needed /bin/echo!

still, discussing in ubuntu chat at the moment as I am confused as to why that didn't raise an error

With Windows Explorer, I often run into problems. When I have Explorer open for longer periods, it will exit. This is very frustrating and I thought about reinstalling Windows. Is there something wrong with my computer or there is a virus?

@Bob Sometimes virus is detected when autorun is being executed on flash drives. I had this happening on Windows XP. You can Google solution. I think it is somekind of USB modem having internal storage as well to connect to the internet.

Resulting in companies not getting their money.
