Q: Quoting a papal document is disrespectful?

apocalypse_info_click_hereI quoted Pope Pius XI, "Casti Connubii" and I was told that I was being disrespectful. "we do not debate who is right, and we do play nicely and do not show disrespect to those who believe differently." I was quoting Casti Connubii. Seriously. http://www.papalencyclicals.net/Pius11/P11CASTI...

Is there any English translation of the Meyers Großes Konversationslexikon? It would be useful for this C.SE question, which relies on a translation therefrom.
^^Do any editors here want to use the helpful responses to that (click the link at the top to see the context and the responses) to do some editing here?

Q: Should the Bible version used by the asker be used for the answer?

JesseApologies if there is a duplicate. I searched in the Meta, but nothing I found could answer this question for me. When answering questions, I typically use the KJV, NASB, or occasionally the ESV. Answers can sometimes vary depending on the differing degree of a translated word (let's take "homos...

The "Charismatics seen by" pretty much everyone is great.

I'd say the reformed one might fit in the evangelical one too
though it depends on how charismatic I suppose

@bruisedreed Nice. I wasn't sure who the portrait was two over and three down. Then I looked at it saying it is how reformers view liberals. "Marx; that's probably Karl Marx." Then I laughed.
Wanted to get that on the se servers so I can find it again later.
I think two of the seen by evangelicals pics are not too accurate. Do reformers have parties and drink a lot? Not as far as I know. But I could see evangelicals saying that about catholics. Viewing catholics as mexicans is odd to me too. I think evangelicals view catholics as idolaters moreso than reformers, hence I think the golden calf image should be bumped one down.
How each views themselves is just spot on though. The Pope, Mother Theresa, family values, The Word, and His Presence.

@fredsbend I figured it was the gold teeth, being a very fake image with lots of money grabbing, but yeah, I was stretching to figure out how they thought that one fit
I do love the nun for the charasmatics view of catholics though
I think the evangelical view of evangelical may not be super either
I'd argue a lot of evangelical (especially the non-denominational kind) would view themselves more as the reformed...reformed or charasmatic...charasmatic
