I would challenge that it is not the modern Christian church that make a mockery of Christ's death, but rather you who are doing so.

@AJHenderson Sexual perversion is not any worse than any of the other sins. But it is that type of sin that is constant evidentiary fact of having had exchanged the truth of God about the Lord's crucifixion for the lie, the bad seed. All the contemporary churches Catholic and Protestant alike have been built on the same foundation of substitutionary atonement. Every human who has inculcated this teaching instead of the truth is a pseudomorph. A false form of Christian is the product of these
churches.

@TheodoreA.Jones you still haven't provided any basis for why one or a couple cases of either legitimate pastors falling (as people are known to do) or a few bad people sneaking through for a time until their fruit matures and it is seen for what it is discredits an entire extended church that is made up of thousands of groups
John 15 speaks to this pruning process of removing the branches that have bad fruit so that the good fruit can multiply
just as church leaders that bear bad fruit are pruned
if the church was a bad tree, then the bad fruit would be the fruit of the tree and they would not be pruned
because there would be no reason to do so
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful.
and I would love to hear your response to Isaiah 53

@TheodoreA.Jones What evidence do I have that the church of @TheodoreA.Jones is not also one that has "a person or personages in [its hierarchy] that practices a sexual perversion of some sort"?
If you are going to make the claim, then I need some sort of proof that your church is different - beyond your word, which would be mere tautology.
@TheodoreA.Jones I would like to know if you are teaching a class on Jesus' statement that the whole of the law can be summed up in this: "Love the Lord your God with all your soul, heart and mind," and the second that is like unto it.
Class is still in session! How come you haven't answered my queries yet?
Sounds like you have a failure rate of 100%!
If you are claiming to be Jesus, or at least one of his disciples, you should also have their powers. Whom have you healed? What miracles attest to your message? Or has God not seen fit to authenticate your ministry through His power?
You are failing the most basic tests of a messiah, Apostole, and prophet.
Indeed, if anything, knowing the Bible as I do, I'd frankly cast you out as a false teacher. So, it sounds like in ignoring you and/or casting you out, we're doing exactly what the Scriptures said to.
"9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

@AJHenderson Your analysis of Jn. 15 is incorrect. You are assuming that the fruit that the branch had previously produced was bad and that caused that type of branch to be pruned. The actual paradigm of the illustration is that the branch on that tree which is not producing any fruit is the one that gets pruned so that it will produce the good fruit. That the branch was not producing anything is the reason for pruning that branch.
@AffableGeek I am making the attempt, but I have on my hands a uppity student who refuses to do his home work.

@AJHenderson Isa. 53 1. There was no information from any source that would have allowed the exact reason for Jesus' crucifixion to become knowable prior to his crucifixion or he would not have been been crucified.1 Cor. 2:8 2. Substitutionary atonement by human sacrifice was a known process prior to Jesus' crucifixion. And was a customary religious practice of antiquity relative to false god's that were idols. Isa. 42:8 "I will not give my glory to another nor my praise to idols." If the Lord

@TheodoreA.Jones ok, fine, but it still stands that branches that are not producing fruit are cut off, that's even more than producing bad fruit.
@TheodoreA.Jones why wouldn't he have been crucified?
he was crucified because humanity was/is in open rebellion to God

had perfected the doctrine of substitutionary atonement he would have to give the glory of doing that to another and the praise to an idol. That ain't gonna happen and it didn't.

@TheodoreA.Jones what? Did it ever occur to you that God came up with it BEFORE human's did?

@AJHenderson Came up with what?

your bit about subsitutionairy atonement originating from idols
it DIDN'T
and it wouldn't give any glory at all to idols
do you not think that God's path to salvation was known by God even before humanity was a thing?
most false religions borrow from truth
that's what makes them attractive to people
but they twist it
