Neither of the two seem amazingly faster than the other. I think it's going to come down to which ever we prefer using since performance seems similar. The biggest thing I'd point out is the note about bulk inserts on peewee. I did hit an issue, but the documentation had how to work around it.
I also don't think we are doing anything that would be a bulk insert, so it doesn't really matter for our use case

I think the SE team would rather give Smokey a bigger quota than have us implement some sort of load balancing just to have our current quota count twice
@KazWolfe I think we said it was 50 feedbacks at some point. Really the only thing we look at is whether you are active in CHQ/have contributed to the project in some non-insignificant way at some point
@KazWolfe we've set it up so that some instances of smokey can run in 'standby mode' where they do nothing except connect to MS and respond to it's heartbeat pings
Then, when the currently active instance goes down for longer than 5 minutes (or is manually triggered by someone), MS tells a standby instance to reboot in full-smokey mode
@KazWolfe we could configure it to start up if the currently active smokey misses a heartbeat messages, but we haven't, just in case something stuffs up temporarily with the network
Anyway, we don't really need load balancing between multiple smokeys, running posts through findspam.py is already pretty quick

"hey let's copy my entire website from [W3Schools|Stack Overflow|MDN], our vastly more experienced lecturers and other classmates totally won't notice when they're marking, right?"
I don't need some vague harmful radiation. A good old unexpected explosion will do. A bright flash is the least of your concerns when your bedroom is coated in burning lithium.
