I can't imagine that SE would give unvetted (well unvetted by them) users direct access to something that feeds directly into their network level spam blockers. I'd imagine that everyone with SD privs would either have to be a) elected or b) sign an agreement similar to the moderator agreement or c) both

Im not sure
Integration with the SE Spam system would mean the power to feedback on SD posts would be beyond even what network moderators have atm in certain aspects
@ArtOfCode
But yes, smokey at SE network level would be amazing
It has the potential to curb spam at an even more effective rate then what it currently does, and currently it does so at unprecedented speeds and accuracy already

@Magisch true. The only way to know is if they come talk to us :) I'd like them to trust the admin team to vet people correctly, but who knows.

Well
Im afraid to ask at this point @ArtOfCode but what is the current vetting process?

1:25 PM
@Magisch basically "do we think you're sane based on any past interactions everyone has had with you"

I got my SD privs like a week after I joined SOCVR

And then we can watch new feedback from metasmoke and offer guidance if some of it isn't on the money.

But its nice that the SE team acknowledges that this project is running well enough and is effective enough to be worthy of being integrated with the network level SE spam blocker

@Magisch we've got that stat, it's just not public. It's on one of the admin-only pages in metasmoke.
That's what I use to determine whether I need to be watching anyone in particular.

@ArtOfCode Would you be averse to giving me my stats?

@Magisch not at all, let me go find them.
> 546 feedbacks, 6 invalidated (1.1% invalid)

Mhm
I can do better

That's a pretty good rate.
The last invalidation was on some feedback you gave a month ago.
100% accurate for a month is pretty good.
We were also planning to use something like that stat to determine an automatic ignoring system.
But someone has yet to actually write that, so it's not there yet.

2:13 PM
Now
Is that just me in this room
or does me in the SOCVR count aswell?
Because I have privs in both

That's feedback from everywhere in chat. If you've got review privileges on MS, it doesn't include your reviews.

Im asking because I had to re-add myself here after being added on SOCVR

Yeah. Smokey is the same bot in both rooms - it's not two separate instances. The only differentiation in metasmoke is between "stuff that smokey passes to metasmoke" and "stuff that comes from review".

Well yea
but am I the same user in both chatrooms
because I think not
When I give feedback on a post here and on SOCVR seperately, it appears twice in metasmoke

Yep, the same would happen if you fed back twice in one room. Chat feedback is grouped on username, so if your username is the same in both rooms, everything appears under that username in one place on metasmoke.

2:19 PM
Ahh
Thats nice

If your username is different or keeps changing then it becomes a little more difficult to keep track of, but the one user who often does that is not on a list of people to worry about :)
Anyway, I could just keep a manual list of usernames and check all of them.

@Undo look up :P ninja'd by about four hours

bah
I reject your pre-discussion and substitute one in my timezone
@ArtOfCode Oh, this might involve a privilege rework.
Or maybe just a bunch of logic at the metasmoke level
Thinking through how real integration would go... I'm not really sure how it'd work.

@Undo Depends. Ideally, I'd like to see it done so that the system can see as few changes as possible, because the setup we have works and is familiar. That kind of system will get us much better feedback than a new one that's buggy or clunky or unfamiliar.

If it's a signal from Smokey to the system after something is posted, as in "hey delete this", then that's probably something at the metasmoke level

@Undo I'm looking at implementing auto-ignore about now, so that's one step in a direction.

4:57 PM
Which would mean I need to start, like, reading PRs.
Because if metasmoke is now carrying some kind of token that lets it send signal to the system... on my server... eeek
And there's no way that could be at the Smokey level, far more attack vectors to get it.

@Undo I dunno. Might be more secure to store the token on Smokey.

@ArtOfCode Why?
