Due to people who are mixed up. While this is not really spam, I thought it might be trivial to add a feature to detect this, and notify accordingly.

The problem is, we can't do anything. We can flag it as off-topic, but that doesn't delete the post.

@DavidPostill I'm set at weight=280 rep=1 reasons=1
weight and reason count do similar things, really

@ArtOfCode So we only auto flag 1 rep spammers?

@DavidPostill that's what my condition does, yeah. You can pick any values you like, as long as they come out with an accuracy above 99.9% (that's mandated by the system, it won't let you save anything less)

5:57 PM
@ArtOfCode it would be nice if it was more obvious when a post had been flagged by a bot and when a post had been flagged by a human.
it's not a huge deal though.

@Seth Yeah, that's not easy to do. As a rule of thumb, if the flag came in a few seconds after the post, it was probably automatic
we haven't done that because how do you indicate whether a bot or a human cast a spam flag, where there's no custom text?

Aha. @Seth we have a userscript (install) that contains an indicator of whether a post was autoflagged or not.
Doesn't say who autoflagged it, though that could be added easily. It also sends feedback to metasmoke when you spam flag a post, which you may or may not want.

280 weight and 1 in the other fields gets you a 99.98% accuracy

but I could technically setup my flag filters already? it just won't cast a flag

7:18 PM
Right
oh, @ArtOfCode we never fixed the thing with usersitesettings not actually doing anything
I was supposed to and didn't

7:32 PM
So I have a question about the auto flagging. Is this something SO/SE has said they were okay with? What happens of the bot goes rogue?

@NathanOliver The way it's built, it'd have to be me going rouge.
Worst case, if Smokey starts feeding us bad data, we end up with some (single) bad spam flags on a few posts. And probably a lot of yelling from me on whomever made and pulled the commit to do so, because it'd be a pretty obvious attack.

Okay. So would I be able to contribute? I see I am not on the list so if not thats fine. Art just brought it up in socvr so I was curious.

For the first question, (1) we don't exactly fall under "Automating flagging or closing based on dumb heuristics.", and (2) we've given the right people ample opportunity to veto it.

@Undo the thing?

@ArtOfCode We don't respect max flags per site per user, IIRC.

7:42 PM
@Undo I think we do, actually. I seem to recall writing a check for successful FlagLogs on that site, for that user
lemme check
Okay, maybe not. post.rb#L29 would have handled the old way of doing it, but we never update that field (for good reason) so it's a no-op

@ArtOfCode aha, I ran rails schema:load rather than rails db:schema:load, which would explain why it errored out. Can't access computer ATM, will let you know how it goes when I do
@Undo don't worry, I am :)

Yay

Finally, when I ran the MySQL command in the terminal, it asked me to install either MySQL 5.something or mariadb 10.0, I installed MySQL, but I remember that undo changed the MS prod DB over to Maria a while ago, so is MySQL fine?

@angussidney should be, AFAIK

@angussidney I'm running MySQL locally
actually, pretty sure we're running it in prod too

So you must have changed it back

Yeah, finally rolled everything back to 14.04 because I hate 16.04
