@MarcusMüller Gilles has about 1000 posts edited, but he needs about 500 more rep to get editing privileges. For every reviewed and accepted edit he gets +2 rep. At the current rate he should get the editing privilege in less than.... 2 more years of hard labour. Uh. Would be nice if the editing privilege was awarded also for some number of accepted edits.

@OlliNiemitalo point is that I, on one hand, would like to raise this issue on meta.dsp, but on the other hand I sure as hell don't want to set a easily findable precedent for giving people a privilege without them (formally) earning it, because that'd be a trap moderation can't easily get out
