Needs correcting, but isn't wrong?
Jul 8, 2016 20:09
You say "I didn't say 미국 and 프랑스 are wrong." immediately after saying "Your answer contains several points that need correcting including "美國 was meant to be transliteration of "america" in Chinese" and France has Korean name '불란서'."
Jul 8, 2016 20:08
Hey @Rathony, why are you giving me a hard time over here? korean.stackexchange.com/questions/46/…
Jul 8, 2016 15:02
@topomorto oh boy, that time has come!
Jun 27, 2016 17:40
Pretty clearly goes against the asker's intentions, as far as I can tell.
Jun 27, 2016 17:40
Jun 27, 2016 17:40
So here's an edit that I saw in the review queue
Jun 22, 2016 18:46
That's just my opinion though haha
Jun 22, 2016 18:44
But maybe instead of "Is hanja opposed in North Korea?" it might have been better as "Is hanja used less in North Korea?" or something like that
Jun 22, 2016 18:44
Maybe... not off-topic, because it does ask a question about differences in the way the language is used in two countries. Although it does kind of ask it from a more politically-weighted perspective, i think it's still fine?
Jun 22, 2016 18:42
@bravokeyl good question.
Jun 22, 2016 15:36
exciting
Jun 22, 2016 15:36
Only day 2, but this beta seems to be going fairly well!

Feb 5, 2014 22:14
I like that point.
Feb 5, 2014 22:13
Ah, that's a good point - games aren't necessarily only software, they can be hardware as well
Feb 5, 2014 22:12
I'm so self-contradictory >_>
Feb 5, 2014 22:12
@Gilles I see where you're coming from, but if Arquade doesn't do game recommendations then there's at least an argument for doing it here. Although personally I agree that they shouldn't be here.
Feb 5, 2014 22:10
It was definitely discussed in meta

Q: Would video game related question be ontopic?

Memor-XWhen it comes to video games, some people that i know personally don't consider them as software while i do and game recommendations are off topic on Arqade. Assuming that a user posts a detailed question would video game recommendation questions be on topic? if so would consoles be included as w...

Feb 5, 2014 22:05
Yeah, I see where you're coming from
Feb 5, 2014 22:02
I'm of the opinion that they're good, but apparently I'm in a minority. Generic seems to be what has momentum. Either way, I think that windows tags should be handled the same for consistency.

Q: Should we have tags for separate Linux distributions?

dotVezzI'm going through the Suggested Edit queue, and I'm seeing a lot of removals of the ubuntu tag. This question is one example. Since the asker is specifically asking for something for Ubuntu, I feel it's appropriate to keep the tag for that distribution. But what does the community think? Should...

Feb 5, 2014 22:01
@Seth I would posit that vs tags will need to be handled in a similar way Linux distributions.
Feb 5, 2014 21:24
I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. =(
Feb 5, 2014 20:06
@Pops Yeah, figured it'd be something like that.
Feb 5, 2014 19:33
Is there some goal the site is to meet before it goes into public beta?
Feb 5, 2014 19:32
So here's a question that i expect to be dumb, but I'll ask anyway:
Feb 5, 2014 18:44
I just drop into chat and scroll up to see that I've been quoted in here. You guys talkin' behind my back?! (Also, Hi!)

rofl well then, that's about the best I should have expected. No idea why I was expecting anything specific
Feb 5, 2014 19:03
Is there not really a ballpark guess for how long something will be in beta before it gets axed/opened?
Feb 5, 2014 19:03
@DanHulme That's true.
Feb 5, 2014 19:01
And it made me curious. You may've been around here longer than I. Any idea how long the beta for Software Recommendations will last? (Or: When will we be able to say "This may be better on Software Recommendations.")

Q: HTTP servers with scripting support on Android

Giulio MuscarelloI'm looking to host simple web apps on my smartphone in a group (like a LAN party, just not as hardcore). Because of both lack of portability and lack of specific programming skills, I can't just develop a client app to play. Therefore, I need a server - preferably an HTTP one - which can serve d...

Feb 5, 2014 19:00
@Izzy So I was looking at this post
Jan 11, 2014 01:27
Also, just in case anyone might be interested, feel free to go check out the Software Recommendations Proposal over on Area51 right now. This can be a place to redirect people asking for "an app that does X", and a few people knowledgeable of Android might be helpful.
Jan 11, 2014 01:25
For the OS conversation, I'll just interject that ArchLinux is amazing.

Oct 3, 2013 17:41
Well, have a good day!
Oct 3, 2013 17:40
Well, I understand that you were trying to help.
Oct 3, 2013 17:40
"I understand what you mean"
Oct 3, 2013 17:39
Anyway, thanks for being so civil =)
Oct 3, 2013 17:39
I realise where you're coming from, but yeah.
Oct 3, 2013 17:37
XDA is only one of the biggest.
Oct 3, 2013 17:37
There are dozens or hundreds of sites for it
Oct 3, 2013 17:37
No, not at all.
Oct 3, 2013 17:37
Second, while you and I are comfortable with using untested methods to root our devices, it's not something that should be recommended with "don't worry about it"
Oct 3, 2013 17:37
That might work, or it might brick him.
Oct 3, 2013 17:36
Well, first - XDA Developers definitely doesn't have anything for the device. If he were to search there, it's quite possible that he could land on a thread for a different Haier device and try methods there.
Oct 3, 2013 17:36
I didn't mean any insult, just trying to contribute to the community.
