@Wardy and how does one learn to deliver properly?
Aug 15, 2013 10:02
What would you call being able to 'properly do it' @Wardy ?
Aug 15, 2013 09:52
Hmm, I can imagine the problem then, it is indeed quite a broad problem definition 'x doesnt work, make it work xD'. I am only a firstyear game development student, so I still simply dont know enough about xna/hlsl to be able to pinpoint where exactly the problem comes from :P Nor do I know enough about 'smart googling' for that matter :P Anyone any tips?

Thanks :) Nah, Im just curious whether its just someone having a bad day or whether its actually something I can change. Im not yet accustomed to this forums unwritten rules ^^

Hey all :) may I ask a quick question? I am new here, and I just got my first downvote :O (I know, shocking) and I would like to know (cause I dont have a clue) what might have caused that downvote as to avoid doing it again in the future. Link to my question that somehow got downvoted: gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/60779/…

Aug 14, 2013 12:23
Haha, dont worry, Spongebob here =D
Aug 14, 2013 12:22
Do you want to post the general solution as an answer in the topic? Then I can accept and upvote it :) (I will post the new and updated code in my question so people can see the specifics)
Aug 14, 2013 12:21
This is awesome =D Thank you very much =D
Aug 14, 2013 12:20
It works =D
Aug 14, 2013 12:20

Aug 14, 2013 12:20

Aug 14, 2013 12:20
Awesome =D
Aug 14, 2013 12:20

Aug 14, 2013 12:20

Aug 14, 2013 12:20

Aug 14, 2013 12:19
Nevermind =D
Aug 14, 2013 12:19
Cause I use texcoord0 for the normals somewhere else
Aug 14, 2013 12:19
But doesnt that give me the normals?
Aug 14, 2013 12:17
okido
Aug 14, 2013 12:17
^^
Aug 14, 2013 12:17
I still dont see the head
Aug 14, 2013 12:17
Well
Aug 14, 2013 12:17
xD
Aug 14, 2013 12:17
its all just one bland grey (or a solid blue) no head visible
Aug 14, 2013 12:16
(or grey when I use the content of the greyscaleshader instead of letting it go to blue automatically)
Aug 14, 2013 12:16
I get an entire blue screen
Aug 14, 2013 12:16
If I comment away the vertexshader (that I added in at some point because I got an error)
Aug 14, 2013 12:16
Interestingly enough
Aug 14, 2013 12:12
Errors =D
Aug 14, 2013 12:11
Aaah
Aug 14, 2013 12:07

Aug 14, 2013 12:06
In the google docs?
Aug 14, 2013 12:05
but nothing
Aug 14, 2013 12:05
So I can see the moment it gets used
Aug 14, 2013 12:05
I've set the greyscalepixelshader to return a solid blue now
Aug 14, 2013 12:04
Still doesnt do anything
Aug 14, 2013 12:01
Heya :)
Aug 14, 2013 09:56
I've also put an updated version of my effects file online, in case the problem is in there: docs.google.com/document/d/…
Aug 14, 2013 09:54
If you get online in the meantime feel free to leave me a message of what you think is wrong, Ill just read it when I get online
Aug 14, 2013 09:53

Aug 14, 2013 09:25
