If we are talking about Unicode + xkcd you ought to mention 1726. In fact, what is depictured there, is exactly what OP is doing here ;-)

@SnakeDoc In a lot of EU countries there are cases where you have more then 7 month of severance (when you were employed for +20 years) and yet companies in those countries are still somehow surviving. ;-)

This is somewhat OT, because your question doesn't ask this, but I think you should also definitely look into FIRE (Financial Independence & Early Retirement). Your current life situation (high paying IT job in a HCOL area & wish to travel a lot) is somewhat predestined for that. With the only condition beeing comfortable with living frugal for a few years. You may want to check out The Shockingly Simple Math Behind Early Retirement.

My electric company once "forgot" to invoice me for two complete years. They didn't feel the need to apologize or justify when finally sending an invoice - you shouldn't be either. Look up the legal limitation period for your area and if the amount is still billable there is really no reason to "discuss" it with them or pass on a single cent.

You are welcome. :)
Mar 30, 2016 19:13
Okay. I'm off for a round of gaming now .... have a nice evening. ;)
Mar 30, 2016 19:12
In the end hindsight is 20/20 I would say. Glad it's working now.
Mar 30, 2016 19:10
You solved it yourself I would say. :p
Mar 30, 2016 19:09
:)
Mar 30, 2016 19:08
Unfortunately I'm not into SELinux at all ;)
Mar 30, 2016 19:08
yeah, ... I had the same thought. ;)
Mar 30, 2016 19:08
I guess you need to somehow enable it for anything in wp-content including subfolders ... :|
Mar 30, 2016 19:05
I'm pretty sure it must be SELinux.
Mar 30, 2016 19:04
ummm ... this doesn't make any sense.
Mar 30, 2016 19:03
Lets try 775 ...
Mar 30, 2016 19:03
Must work. :|
Mar 30, 2016 19:02
I see.
Mar 30, 2016 19:02
and you have "direct" still in your wp-config?
Mar 30, 2016 19:00
Doesn't look quite right to me, yet. :|
Mar 30, 2016 18:58
hummm
Mar 30, 2016 18:57
:)
Mar 30, 2016 18:56
where is the wordpress site?
Mar 30, 2016 18:55
your username is apache ;-)
Mar 30, 2016 18:54
can you show the phpinfo?
Mar 30, 2016 18:53
:)
Mar 30, 2016 18:52
I got 11.
Mar 30, 2016 18:51
Ah okay. Which version?
Mar 30, 2016 18:51
or put it into a pastebin.com ...
Mar 30, 2016 18:51
ya, dunno if chat can handle it.
Mar 30, 2016 18:50
Could you just copy & paste the whole content here?
Mar 30, 2016 18:50
Back to phpinfo ...
Mar 30, 2016 18:50
hmmm ... okay. :p
Mar 30, 2016 18:46
Ok, I'm sure we can make it without SSH. ;)
Mar 30, 2016 18:44
that's annoying. Too bad ...
Mar 30, 2016 18:38
ok :)
Mar 30, 2016 18:38
port 22 still blocked :(
Mar 30, 2016 18:35
That would be great, ... I could swear the user info must be somewhere in there. ;)
Mar 30, 2016 18:33
Can you give the link to the phpinfo in the meanwhile, or is it internal only?
Mar 30, 2016 18:28
hmmm ... guess that would be the fastest way. I would be fine to have a quick look. But please change the password - you shouldn't give random strangers on the internet your root-password and the chat protocols are public. ;)
Mar 30, 2016 18:27
yeah, the WP ftp handler isn't that great ... but it must work without it.
Mar 30, 2016 18:25
yeah, exactly.
Mar 30, 2016 18:25
Networking/firewalls shouldn't change anything about file permissions ....
Mar 30, 2016 18:25
No, I don't think so.
Mar 30, 2016 18:23
mod_php or php-fpm maybe?
Mar 30, 2016 18:23
... did you follow a tutorial to setup the Apache? Do you know which request handler is used?
Mar 30, 2016 18:23
There should be "Environment" only.
Mar 30, 2016 18:21
In the section "Environment" there is a variable "USER".
Mar 30, 2016 18:20
I think your SELinux maybe doesn't like posix_geteuid().
Mar 30, 2016 18:19
The information about the user should also be in the phpinfo output somewhere under "Environment", but it should be fine either way.
Mar 30, 2016 18:17
and if you just put phpinfo(); into the wordpress index.php after the opening <?php ...
