@terdon That's the more unuseful thing ever. I don't need to know that it works for X or Y version, I need to know that if it works for me. If it doesn't then that's a downvote.

This is again a misfeature. Its stated goals are not addressed by the feature itself in a way that logically needs addressing (it's claimed to help with obsolete answers, while obsolete answers just need an edit that updates them instead).
@StephenKitt No, I don't think that version tags are going to help at all with anything, be it users, askers or answerers. The manual is just including the link whenever relevant and doesn't affect the nominal flow of the answer. It's something that can be included organically.
BTW, jitsi is probably preventing you from joining without the mic and then complaining that you have problems with it. Which is unlike other solutions (gmeet) that allows you to join with whatever you have.
