What is the story with missing images everywhere?
Dec 5, 2024 14:56
@ChrisK what OS and version? Can't reproduce on Win v14
Oct 25, 2024 07:57
@JasonB. thanks, obvious indeed once you look at this that way :)
Oct 24, 2024 18:16
@Domen @xzczd ok, then my question is why? :) Also, the same phrasing "elements according to their values" does not help.
Oct 24, 2024 07:31
<|"a" -> 1|>

{"string"}
Oct 24, 2024 07:31
Is this expected?, am I missing something?

<|"a" -> 1, "b" -> "string"|> // DeleteCases[_String]
<|"a" -> 1, "b" -> "string"|> // Cases[_String]
Oct 15, 2024 08:28
@ubpdqn I am glad you stepped up either way :)
And it did work are a catalyst indeed. Tough choices.
Oct 10, 2024 06:11
I have no doubt you are capable candidates of course :)
Oct 10, 2024 06:10
@E. Chan-López and @ubpdqn keeping elections alive is a nice gesture but don't forget that there are 2 positions open so be prepared to take responsibility.
Oct 9, 2024 06:26
@xzczd oh, missed that. Thanks. Ok, so now you can nominate yourself with no hurry :)
Oct 8, 2024 12:18
@xzczd do we?
> Nominations close in 7 hours.
Oct 8, 2024 11:44
No one wants to help C. E.? We have two spots available afaict, time is ticking...

@xzczd There's a lot of activity data but I don't think any performance reviews are being made :)
Aug 23, 2024 06:57
@xzczd It was automatic because of inactivity afaik.
Mar 19, 2024 09:42
@kirma Ok, thanks, reported
Mar 19, 2024 09:36
I agree it could be a design choice but even usage for the LinearGradientFiling says it is used to draw faces of polygons.
Mar 19, 2024 09:25
Graphics[{
LinearGradientFilling[{GrayLevel[0.5], Red}],
EdgeForm@{Thick, Blue}, Rectangle[]
}]
Mar 19, 2024 09:25
Is it expected that the edge form is ignored?
Feb 2, 2024 12:47
@JasonB. hi, please check the developer chat/general, there are some comments from Jay about mathematica.stackexchange.com/q/296997/5478 that you may want to add.
Feb 1, 2024 11:33
@Nasser thanks
Feb 1, 2024 11:00
@Nasser by simplification I also meant evaluation. E.g. I will need to verify that each step in getting towards a final derivative is correct.
Feb 1, 2024 10:51
@Nasser yes, I can manage it. I am more concerned about the best tool atm, not the easiest to use.
Feb 1, 2024 10:39
Free is good but commercial are not ruled out.
Feb 1, 2024 10:39
@Nasser thanks, yes I was going to start with sympy. Let's see how it performs.
Feb 1, 2024 07:39
@Nasser I have to explore alternatives to Mathematica for a project that involves simplification of formulas involving limits, derivatives and integrals. But on a rather basic level, no special functions involved. Do you have any recommendations? The project also involves parsing LaTeX or MathML and adding custom interpretation rules so that capabilities are a plus but not essential.
Dec 21, 2023 09:52
You are welcome :)
Dec 21, 2023 09:50
@Akbar they were flagged as not welcomed and since they were not about mathematica it was no harm to remove them.
Please respect other users wish to refer to them per the nickname they've chosen. Some prefer and use their real name some don't.

Q: "do ... while" loop equivalent in Mathematica

KubaHave I missed something or is there no built-in which mimics the behaviour of do ... while loop? I am looking for a construct that evaluates procedure once and then repeatedly evaluates it while test is not fulfilled. I'm ended up using: While[procedure; test, {}] But clearly the second argu...

First famous question badge... for a closed question :) I've told them that it is not easy to find :)

Dec 5, 2023 06:05
No worries, yes I usually leave a comment but I assumed you'd figure :)
Dec 5, 2023 05:30
@bmf I did it. Removed non relevant part started by user64494.

My old experiments goal was to transpile ManipulateBox to HTML+JS template but the Manipulate's body would still go through the kernel (APIFunction in particular).
Oct 18, 2023 07:37
As a whole, for arbitrary code that basically means compile WL to JS+HTML
Oct 18, 2023 07:36
@Nasser 'who' would run whatever you have inside that manipulate, from NDSolve or other specialized functions? Do you mean to convert it as a whole or to have a kernel in a back end?
Oct 11, 2023 06:56
@LukasLang I get a 'better' message:
ARPublish::os: ARPublish is not yet available on Windows.
Oct 5, 2023 08:52
SequenceReplace[{1, 2, 3, 4}, p : {_Integer?OddQ | Except[4]} :> foo@p]
SequenceReplace[{1, 2, 3, 4},  p : {(__Integer?OddQ) | Except[4]} :> foo@p]
SequenceReplace[{1, 2, 3, 4}, {p : ((__Integer?OddQ) | Except[4])} :>   foo@{p}]
Oct 5, 2023 08:52
Is it expected that the second one is off?
Oct 4, 2023 06:21
Unless they make it backward compatible and available to easily fetch in v12/13
Oct 4, 2023 06:20
@b3m2a1 welcomed but a bit late, not to mention it is not ready yet and once it is you will have to ask yourself a question 'should my package support any older version'?
Sep 8, 2023 08:13
Is there a token for creating new cells? Or is that done via NotebookWrite only?
Aug 1, 2023 19:19
@b3m2a1 parent's size is fixed 500x500 so remaining makes sense.
Aug 1, 2023 09:06
Full takes all vertical space form the parent so that's to much.
Aug 1, 2023 09:05
Framed[
 Column[{
   Framed["body", ImageSize -> {Full, 400}, ImageMargins -> -.5],
   Framed["footer", ImageSize -> {Full, 100},
    Alignment -> {Left, Bottom}, ImageMargins -> -.5]},
  Alignment -> {Top, Bottom}, Spacings -> 0],
 ImageSize -> {500, 500},
 Alignment -> {Left, Top}, FrameMargins -> 0]
Aug 1, 2023 09:05
How to expand ImageSize vertically to fill all available space?
Manually heights are 400 and 100 but I would like to have TakeAll and All:
Jun 7, 2023 06:58
@MichaelE2 I grinded with nested grid and unmanageable Dividers settings for this one but I will take a look at that if I have to do this again, thanks.
Jun 7, 2023 06:56
@LukasLang XD Thanks

Oct 24, 2024 06:34
Thank you all :) Nice to see there's still initiative in the community.

Jan 31, 2024 12:47
@cvgmt @user64494 can we settle on the title interpunction without SE auto flagging a 'rollback war'?

Dec 3, 2023 19:52
I've removed non technical aspects of this otherwise useful conversation, let's keep it this way.
