Most people play with sleeves so you can't see the back, but there are also placeholder cards that you use when it's in your deck/hand that are single sided, and then you replace it with the real card when you play it

Oh before I forget, @TobiasF., all the checks that are like 16 iron ore, 3 enderpearls. None of them are required right? I have some in shops
