I still consider these games PvE. as PvP (to me) means player vs player, as in directly versing each other live. Using Clash of Clans style games as an example. You are up against the AI, whether that was set up the developers when you raid NPC maps or Players when you raid their maps, it's still you vs AI.

@DanmakuGrazer yeah, the lack of mobility is definitely something that takes getting used to. Use the running poke (move+x) to close most gaps and it does pretty high damage as well, cancel combos and maneuver around the monster with sidesteps or backhops. armor skill for quicksheathe helps a lot when you have to chase things down. I tend to focus more on the guarding playstyle though, so I load guard+ and stam recovery and just wait for the monsters to come to me.

the hardest part now of gunlances is managing heat. if you don't wyvern fire at the right time, you take a long penalty to damage and cant wyvern fire again for a long time

@DanmakuGrazer depends on the type: normal = full burst as much as possible; long = poke and shoot; wide = shoot.

@Yuuki QoL hasn't really improved all that much from game to game... there's still no "send all to box". Hold button to gather/carve is nice, but eh

kuranico says it has no pre-reqs so im stuck

for some reason my 5* village key to fight the gammoth isn't showing up.

I usually go with poison for my multihunt weapon, or plain ol' raw power
