@lvd Yes apps needed a lot of data but many did not require all that data to be in one segment. I wrote programs that had complex linker setups and also ran oput of data memory. A 386 extender made that so much easier just recompile and link but the data was not one large block. I know as I debugged it under OS/2 1.x with each malloc beingh a separate segment.

@lvd the issue is not segmentation but each segement having a limit in size and that only affected some apps e.g. video and photos most apps do not deal with large blocks of data.

@lvd That issue is not due to the segmented architecture of 8088/6 but due to the IBM design and limits of 16 bit address space. 80286 would allow enough memory for the time if you had a better OS. Segmentation was useful for debugging - set every malloc to allocate its own segment then if something overwrote it you got a nice crash in the debugger to see exactly what happened.

@phoog Technically correct but seeing from the other side immigrants via visa or via asylum are often seen as one thing by people objecting to migration so if someone is complaining about a migration topic I have found they don't differentiate between the two cases - now in Pakistan people are killed for blasphemy so there will be Pakistani Christians getting asylum

One note of difference is that I got nano from Macports not Homebrew - but looking at the Portfile and Formula there is nothing obviously that different

At the terminal what does which nano show as the "nano" in M<onterey is actually pico and does not have those keystrokes. How did you get the specs?

Where does nano show ^/ ? I see search as ^W Help is ^G note that ^ is the control key. Just tryed on nano in Monterey

@WeatherVane I had that exacxtly my whole sight became I could only make out light or dark. Then it improved (in my case overnight). The issue was I got a lot a floaters and they first were small everywhere then the coalesed into larger ones and I could see again

@Oddthinking the problem is that those papers are not answers as they just show that the number of antibodies falls. They don't answer the actual points the question is after.

Go to each file in Finder and then trash them. If you aren't familiar enough with the terminal to convert to rm then it too risky for me to explain what to do - as there could be misunderstandings between my comments and what you do
