One of the strategies in water conservation is rain water harvesting > if you harvest the rain water you have conserved it. If I eat the steer, I have consumed harvested rain water, with my protein. This is why this whole line of question and answer are so circular and pointless. For every point there is an equally valid counter point.
Aug 3, 2020 16:27
@frеdsbend this becomes a circular argument. The steer in my comment, uses the conversation method of rainwater harvesting. If butchered at 1000 pounds, it would contain about 100 gallons of harvested rain water. Going 100% omnivore (range fed, or wild life) would have a positive water conservation impact, while any commercial vegan diet would have a negative water conservation impact.

How do you define save water? It is not like water is used up and in most cases it is not produced nor altered before use for growing crops, etc. A 100% range feed steer, with access to stream fed water supply, only takes the amount of water out of the environment that it turns into body mass.

@Aravona There are a number of inflight discussions about that on meta.stackexchange.com in theory yes, in practice time will tell, the goal was just to remove "Beta" from the site name,

@Aravona the context is in the meta post Congratulations, you're no longer in Beta!

I also recall reading something about W3W having issues with continental drift. I am not sure if they have addressed that issue.

I found and added a reference. The references is used to support the Wikipedia article that also mentions this event. I am not familiar enough with the reference to assert it's reliability. Further research into the accuracy of the statement is encouraged.

There have been no new posts at chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/79660/pets-chat-off-the-leash in 13 days, and it does not look frozen, at least I don't have the option to unfreeze it. Can someone who is not a moderator, try and post something there. If you are unable to post please ping me here.

At the same time in New York For-profit organizations may not use unpaid volunteers seems pretty grey to me.
Nov 14, 2019 20:44
I read this still don't see where it excludes volunteers. "3. (a) The term “employees” includes but is not restricted to any individual employed by a labor organization; any individual whose employment has ceased as a consequence of, or in connection with, any current labor dispute or because of any unfair labor practice, "
Nov 14, 2019 20:44
Can you expand on this, I don't see where volunteers are excluded nor are they included. Several groups are specifically included and excluded, volunteers are not. See also Is Stack Exchange in violation of New York labor law, in using volunteer moderators?
