And with a smashing realisation I now know where the name surname Smith came from... obvious when you think about it!

Feb 11, 2015 11:48
I think it's rather unclear - I think I understand the idea but it would be a lot easier to answer if it was for a particular feat
Feb 6, 2015 09:52
I think it's a good question
Feb 5, 2015 16:07
Could it be based on underwater/submarine combat?
Feb 5, 2015 12:40
Just need another 6000 rep ;)
Feb 5, 2015 11:58
Wow I've slipped down the leaderboard... 5th! I was first for about 10 minutes! :p
Feb 5, 2015 11:57
Oh the 51 one? Yeah I saw that and thought it was a good idea
Feb 5, 2015 11:54
Good to hear!
Feb 5, 2015 11:54
Ha!
Feb 5, 2015 11:51
I've kept an eye in it, certainly looks like we've been getting some good questions
Feb 5, 2015 11:40
How's things around here?
Feb 5, 2015 11:40
Good :)
Feb 5, 2015 11:31
Morning everyone
Nov 26, 2014 21:07
@Shokhet I did but I think they've edited it so it squeezes into On Topic
Nov 26, 2014 12:01
I'm having some trouble with layouts on KindleFire :(
Nov 26, 2014 12:00
@MonicaCellio is ebook formatting on topic at Writers?
Nov 26, 2014 11:42
Right, I've been putting off that question for too long - do your worst!
Nov 26, 2014 11:42

Q: How would a user interact with a direct neural interface?

LiathAssume humanity had developed a cybernetic implant technology which allowed humans to be "advanced". The technology would be surgically implanted and provide a range of functionality (I'm not interested in cybernetics to replace damaged limbs/senses which the brain already has 'wiring' for). An ...

Nov 21, 2014 09:35
@overactor looks like the general consensus is that your proposal is a dup :(
Nov 20, 2014 14:20
It's just bordering on story building
Nov 20, 2014 14:19
@TimB yeah that's why I'm holding off- too dramatic an edit
Nov 20, 2014 14:13
I want to rename the centaur question, if you take out the plot stuff and phrase it as "how can a huge forest burn down?" it's quite reasonable
Nov 20, 2014 14:10
My merfolk question is 9 views of earning me a silver badge! :)
Nov 20, 2014 14:09
I like the idea of scales of wound though... almost HP rather than true/false
Nov 20, 2014 14:07
@TimB personally I'd go into either the D66 or the 6 and a 4+/5+/6 on designated dice but definition isn't about asking questions you want to know the answers to... it's about suggesting good questions
Nov 20, 2014 14:04
I like my D6 question because 1/6 is not very granular - for example a fairy's chance of wounding a dragon in combat... 1/6 REALLY!?
Nov 20, 2014 14:03
Likewise
Nov 20, 2014 14:01
Anyway, back on topic
Nov 20, 2014 14:01
@overactor personally I don't make jokes about certain topics... some people will be offended by the mere mention of some things... that's probably one of those subjects
Nov 20, 2014 13:57
Actually I've got that badge on nearly every site I'm a member of... I'm not sure that's a claim to fame
Nov 20, 2014 13:57
tumbleweed
Nov 20, 2014 13:52
Hi Monica waves
Nov 20, 2014 13:32
@overactor added a couple of dice theory questions - I'm a wargames geek :)
Nov 20, 2014 13:25
I like that you've prompted your main challenge too - makes it look like you're considering these things
Nov 20, 2014 13:25
@overactor looks good to me
Nov 20, 2014 13:17
Not yet - just something vague to say "Mechanics of designing board, tabletop, card, dice and computer games"
Nov 20, 2014 12:50
You may want to add a little more in the description - it feels very vague...
Nov 20, 2014 12:04
Basically anything "real"
Nov 20, 2014 12:04
I'd suggest asking your questions on boardgames, if you don't get the answers then propose something. BG actually covers a lot more than the name implies, they cover tabletop/card and dice games too
Nov 20, 2014 12:01
Board and Card Games
For people who like playing board games, designing board games or modifying the rules of existing board games. Card games, too, because some games really can be classified as both.
Nov 20, 2014 12:01
Personally I think it's likely to be closed as a dup of Board Games
Nov 20, 2014 12:00
VIDEO GAME
Nov 20, 2014 12:00
Crucially - For professional and independent game developers who would like to discuss the various aspects of video game development and design.
Nov 20, 2014 11:59
Robert Cartaino, he does a great job of closing the area 51 dups area51.stackexchange.com/users/5/robert-cartaino
Nov 20, 2014 11:58
Propose it, but you'll need to convince Robert ;-)
Nov 20, 2014 11:57
True, there is a tag on board games but there's only 8 questions
Nov 20, 2014 11:56
Maybe a few too many :(

@overactor you beat me to it - I was going to ask how many of the proposed questions would be on topic/welcomed here. I'm not a very active member so I wouldn't like to judge but my observation is there's much more emphasis on rules for existing games
