Please don't use screenshots for text output. Also, I only see two different IP addresses in the output you posted, which to me is not a "different DNS IP of my server each time"?

@Hastur, what if you force an entry in your history that starts with quotes, like, with the quotes, "/some/dummy" Then the event should be found.

Do you have history expansion switched off? What if you type pwd to see the current folder, and then type !p and hit Enter to repeat that command?

Then I guess your setup is different from the OP's. Without history expansion there is no reason why !" would show any special behaviour, I'd say? Do the original 3 commands from the question even give you the problem that the OP sees?

Also, just typing !" and hitting Enter will get you that dummy command then again. History expansing.

Just type, including the quotes, "/some/dummy/command", press Enter (you'll get "No such file or directory") and then repeat your steps above?

I don't see why this would stop the bash history expansion. For me, pasting the above gets me this I share command history between Terminal windows so even a fresh Bash instance will find some history. Only using set +H as suggested in the duplicate stops this.

As an aside: maybe your email is one of the 90,23% spam that my providers just blocks, according to this: xs4all.nl/klant/veiligheid/statistieken.php (It's not in my own junk folder though, so I doubt that. Most spam is tagged, but still delivered to me.)

If it looks like the Dutch word for rain, then yes, it should be delivered? But if you just clicked the email address then all should be fine, eventually. (I just clicked it myself and it is correct.)

True, @IvoFlipse, I guess I could combine many of the TM questions into one "Do you know all of the Time Machine secrets?" (Like I love my redundant TM disks, but many just trust in one disk they keep close to their computer....)

[...] Mail.app (which has GREAT integration with Time Machine by the way). — I had my first full Time Machine restore a few weeks ago. Including buying and installing the new disk, it took me less than 3 hours!
