(turns out, it doesn’t save when the draft is empty tho. Which means that it restores the purged draft on next open.

Furthermore, it saves immediately when you leave the input field, incl. when changing the tab. But not when closing the tab while focus is in the input field.

So my strat for purging and closing is:
ctrl+a <space><tab> ctrl-w <enter>
