@criggie, yes, you're correct about the type. I currently have an H-type, single-circuit track. There are two different "types" of lights -- a couple of edison bulbs and a few LED spots. It drives me batty that they're all on one light switch. I already have a two-gang box in place, but of course, I would need to run additional cabling up to power the second circuit. I'm an idiot for not realizing. Thank you!

can I ask a random question? anyone know how hard it would be to convert a single-circuit track light to a dual-circuit? i.e., keep the lights, take down the circuit, replace it with a dual, put back the lights? (so I can separate out a couple lights to a different switch)
