If we take King's reference as pertaining to bastard children, then in 1957 the rate was even higher according to the CDC. 2% for Whites compared to 20% for non-whites.

Companies hire recent grads moreso for the teachability aspect than skillset, as one answer or comment stated 'skills can be taught' to a certain extent.

@PatoSáinz for today's SF? nonsense, all you need is 1)extensive knowledge, like how to install it, 2) snappy responses to people (like devops) who get thrown into IT positions and have to thrive, and 3) the ability to accept the fact hardly any of your high quality answers will be upvoted, ever, and you'll be the top SF user in no time
Nov 25, 2014 03:02
@PatoSáinz they changed when we sought out a new land, not up to me, fwiw I think you'd be fine there since you're really like 40 ;), however as the next generation of SF I think it's up to you to help shape the future of the site, perhaps you can save SF from itself

Until I have hardcore proof of your real age, then no slack until your "18th birthday"

Oct 31, 2014 15:10
@HopelessN00b good point
Oct 31, 2014 15:07
@ChrisS I'm actually realizing now it's more of a culture thing, as the top answer from another country suggests in China letting one rip in public is common practice, didn't know that, and I teach my kids to say excuse me whenever I catch them dropping one
Oct 31, 2014 15:04
nah @ChrisS, she knew what she was doin ><

Q: Should a 5 year old excuse themselves after farting?

trejderMy five years old daughter sometime farts silently, and she doesn't excuse herself. Every time I detect such a situation, I remind her that she should try to avoid it and leave the room, going to a toilet, but if she fails to do that, she should excuse herself. My wife says this is wrong. She cl...

that's awesome
Oct 31, 2014 14:43
If it works out we might grab some Fires, we'll see
Oct 31, 2014 14:43
@TheCleaner Wow, mine is Dec. 24th, I thought you might have gotten it sooner by chance, I was going to ask you to let me know how it worked out, I mainly want it for Plex, we have no Rokus/similar on any of the TVs, closest thing is the blu ray player which has netflix/amazon prime etc, and it picks up plex via upnp I think, so it's a very basic plex client
Oct 31, 2014 13:26
Lol
Oct 31, 2014 13:26
@TheCleaner when is your expected delivery date?
Oct 31, 2014 12:16
So, did anybody splurge for a FireTV Stick?
Oct 31, 2014 12:09
@TheCleaner glad to hear you got it running, I'm not a big fan of Crystal Reports, or a small fan for that matter.
Oct 29, 2014 20:46
@TheCleaner Speaking of which, asked any Different questions on AskDiff lately?
Oct 29, 2014 20:45
@TheCleaner heh, mission accomplished.
Oct 29, 2014 20:34
similar to that?
Oct 29, 2014 20:19
@NathanC icwydt, but for 170 buckaroos, I hope not. It might be worth it if you can replace the usb cable, b/c in the 'long' run, that will matter.
Oct 29, 2014 20:17
looks like it might be too thin for some people.
Oct 29, 2014 20:16
> I immediately returned this keyboard as soon as I got it, because it was too flat and I get wrist strain from typing on too flat of a keyboard. My 25-year-old keyboard is way more ergonomic.
Oct 29, 2014 20:14
Looks like all show and no go.
Oct 29, 2014 20:13
@ChrisS blagh, I forgot you mods can friggin edit posts forever. I'll get you again.

@ChrisS Best typo I've seen all day.
Oct 29, 2014 19:57
^^
Oct 29, 2014 19:56
@Basil oh, probably depends on what you're using it for, if you're not familiar w/ vim then the learning curve is a little steep compared to notepad++

I'm not saying the equity/what the market says your house is worth doesn't increase your net worth, but I am saying that if you sold your house today you'd still have to pay off that mortgage, because it's a debt.
Feb 12, 2015 18:14
What I mean is a mortgage is a loan with your house as collateral, so your statement ...I have a small mortgage $1400 a month and no debt what-so-ever. is technically incorrect. You (as in people in general) don't have to have a mortgage, like you don't have to have a car note. I'm not trying to argue you down, but remember equity is just an imaginary figure banks use to loan you more money. Just b/c someone says a house is worth $X, doesn't mean it will sell for $X.
Feb 12, 2015 18:14
I get what you're saying, but don't forget a mortgage is a debt, just saying.
