Q: What's the best way to stop worrying about upright / italic d?
A: Use an upright math font!

(finally found this answer by myself)

[all of this after reply to cfr is about neuralatex]
01:58
Also TikZ have a OO library???
01:56
I've drewn some interesting stuff in Asymptote before that takes a long time to compile, and I ended up using my local machine.
01:55
This is flawed because as soon as you do that you'll run into compile time limit :D

^^ regrading neural network
01:54
@JasperHabicht I wonder how they did it.
01:53
@cfr So I can show off to my friends about LaTeX's supercalifragilisticexpiadelidocious documenation system.
yst 20:43
@DavidCarlisle oh... you can mark single lines of code in dtx to get written in different files??? That would make one of of my own internal packages so easier to maintain using dtx -- I have to maintain TeXStudio cwl completion files, and it'd be super good to place lines right next to the macro.
yst 20:40
Can someone explain what ⟨latexrelease⟩ does? (it's shown in source2e)
yst 20:40
-------
yst 20:31
Why isn't there a Church of Vi?
yst 20:30
@DavidCarlisle ok... so VI-VI-VI is the editor of the beast?
yst 20:28
@DavidCarlisle What? I hate emacs. So you think Skillmon is bad at choosing editros?
yst 20:24
or vim
yst 20:23
@DavidCarlisle do you use emacs?
yst 20:20
(but tikz-euclide)
yst 20:20
@DavidCarlisle hmm... also math olympiad kids seem to be obsessed with Asymptote
yst 20:19
@DavidCarlisle Or use picture mode like you. put, put, put...
yst 20:19
@DavidCarlisle wow, nice to know!
yst 20:18
@DavidCarlisle in terms of single core cpu speed?
yst 20:17
Also how does one speed up TikZ compilation?
yst 20:17
@DavidCarlisle although most of the time I just type in whatever trash editor is associated with the file extension, e.g. I use Xcode for Python (because it's the default) and I use Xcode just as a text editor.
yst 20:16
@DavidCarlisle you're wrong about vim. it is a reasonable choice of editor, just that it keeps beeping from me using wrong things and gets my mom to look at what the heck I'm doing on my laptop.
yst 20:12
@DavidCarlisle the common pattern is the Skillmon once stated that saying Frozen > Tangled is me stating my wrong opinion. The perhaps too meta pattern here is, people telling me my opinoins are wrong.
yst 20:11
(my problem with Tangled is that Rapunzel is sort of stupid, she knows how many days it'd take Mother Gothel to get the paint but didn't even really hurry... and the amount of time it took to figure out she was the lost princess after going out to attend the festival is simply too long... plus there's a bunch of royal guards trying to get flynn, doubt if rapunzel getting taken away is not that well know for the royal guards to simply recognize rapunzel and bring her back to the castle...)
yst 20:07
@Skillmon look at the 4th comment from the right side starred bar
yst 20:06
and cfr was trying to defend me saying it's not wrong to hate stuff
yst 20:06
@Skillmon Its plot is simple... I knew it wasn't serious, but that was under the conTeXt of David Carlisle telling me that hating expl3 is wrong.
yst 15:32
@samcarter yep, specifically that, at least Answers let you see other answers and the associated Question
yst 02:01
@cfr are you talking about the assumption with generating bitmaps?
yst 01:59
@DavidCarlisle oh so it's a generic comment
Fri 23:52
@samcarter at least it'd be faster than rendering a movie with TikZ
Fri 23:51
@ApoorvPotnis like how the As on the left are illustrating serif gradually becoming slab serif
Fri 23:49
so useless comment
Fri 23:49
@DavidCarlisle what's with % should serifs and bulbs be attached???? Clearly it's a sans-serif font
Fri 23:49
@ApoorvPotnis yes, my mom was so stressed when i told her not to search it up, then she knew why
Fri 20:36
(or, another case where if you're simply doing this, using luatex is unnessacary)
Fri 20:36
@barbarabeeton wat?? yay another reason not to use luatex
Fri 20:33
Question: Somehow sometimes CM Sans and CM Serif look like the same design but with different parameters... I don't know if that's true
Fri 20:18
@DavidCarlisle oh... especially if it's the first word in a paragraph... guess you might be cooked with hyphenation
Fri 20:15
@DavidCarlisle hmm... an example of a whole sentence pretending to be words?
Fri 20:10
@DavidCarlisle so why are Germans so interested in TeX?
Fri 20:06
@DavidCarlisle I know what it is but not about the huge bunch of technical stuff contained in the article
Fri 19:46
@samcarter Sorta similar to the github identicons
Fri 19:45
@DavidCarlisle What do you mean??? There's clearly me from the U.S. and you LITERALLY just mentioned Germany.
Fri 19:44
@DavidCarlisle Yes, I know that, I even used it to make a pun in this chat a few days ago.
Fri 18:58
also: Is Germany associated with TeX in anyway? Why \StopEventually in doc, beamer, and tikz's full form all associated with german words? Why is CTAN only in English and German?
