Thu 20:26
But also, the ventilation seemed inadequate
Thu 20:25
Maybe that was a mistake lol
Thu 20:25
@Rеnаud I actually tried that one, and decided against it because it was pretty heavy. Something like 600g
Thu 18:58
I guess they can be made with heavy, scratch resistant glass
Thu 18:58
I wonder if motorcycle helmets suffer from the same issue?
Thu 18:57
@Rеnаud that's a shame, I was thinking of getting one to use with my grocery getter bike to make it harder to lose my riding sunglasses lol
Tue 10:01
Does make any sense?
Tue 10:00
@Criggie I guess one thing I didn't consider is that because the visor is further away from your eyes than a pair of sunglasses would be, it might be harder to "see through"/mentally filter out scratches
Tue 07:48
Even if it's not sunny
Tue 07:48
And to protect from bugs
Tue 07:47
For me personally, I have to ride with sunglasses all the time because the wind irritates my eyes
Tue 07:42
Do the visors scratch/haze more than sunglasses?
Tue 06:16
Omg, I just saw the first rider with their visor down!!!
Tue 06:14
This is while they're actively riding their bike too
Tue 06:13
I've been in Paris for a couple days, and I noticed lots of people riding with helmets with integrated wind visors. But everyone has the wind visors turned up! Does anyone know why?
Jun 29 21:05
Maybe it's just because I bought bad ones
Jun 29 21:04
I've had bad experiences with padded saddle pads, they tend to just, not work lol
Jun 29 21:04
@Criggie on my butt
Jun 29 19:57
Are there padded bike shorts without padding in the crotch area? I've tried a lot of different bibs, and all of them make my crotch numb
Jun 26 20:38
At least for derailleurs
Jun 26 20:37
@gschenk imo, q'auto is the only available electronic shifting on the market that would actually be beneficial for many people
Jun 26 20:36
@Criggie I'm planning on covering my bike with hex locks. Plus, I saw tons of beaters there with Jones H-bars, so I'm not too worried
Jun 26 18:30
I'm thinking something like the Jones H-bar or Velo-Orange crazy bars
Jun 26 18:29
I think it might have actually been easier on my fixed gear with pursuit bars than the geared bike with cruiser bars I was riding lol
Jun 26 18:29
I want to move to Portland, and when I visited, it had pretty good infrastructure, so I want to have the option to have a super relaxed bike for grocery getting. But the city has lots of hills, and riding up those hills with cruiser bars was really hard
Jun 26 18:28
Hey y'all, I was wondering what alternative handlebars you'd recommend for city cruising in a city with lots of step hills
Jun 25 04:22
@Criggie What does the funeral for a company look like?
Jun 11 08:46
The more a joke has to be explained, the funnier it is
Jun 11 08:45
You can tell the joke is funny because my explanation had more than 20 words 🙂
Jun 11 08:45
@Willeke The joke was that "too many redirects" is a type of "stack overflow" programming malfunction, and "stack overflow" is also the name of the Stack Exchange programming forum
Jun 11 08:19
@Willeke maybe you can get some help on the Stack Overflow site 🤔?
Jun 11 07:57
I should probably put some locktite on that lol
Jun 11 07:57
Every 6 months, I need to re tighten the steerer tube extender on my mom's bike to 20nm. Even tho I could theoretically do it with the multi-bit, I never do
Jun 11 07:56
With the exception of high torque applications
Jun 11 07:55
@gschenk it was designed to be kept on the bike for light, on road maintenance. But I use it for all of my maintenance because I don't like fiddling with Allan keys until I get the right size
Jun 10 08:00
@Criggie you can stick those super tall panniers on them, AND fit a pizza box on the top of the rock
Jun 10 07:59
@Criggie you're right, that is kind of weird lol
Jun 10 07:36
Are there mounts on the head tube itself? Or does the basket just clamp around the head tube?
Jun 10 07:35
I kind of want to get one for my Trek District 4 Stagger
Jun 10 07:34
@Criggie I love head tube mounted baskets!!! They're so much nicer than handlebar baskets
Jun 10 06:57
Here's a picture without glaring reflections :)
Jun 10 06:57
Jun 10 06:50
It's a double ended hex bit, 6mm on one side, 5mm on the other. Except each has a hole for a retracting 4mm and 3mm bit respectively. The spring is inside the whole contraption and allows the 3mm bit to retract and engage the 5mm
Jun 10 06:48
Jun 10 06:47
Jun 10 06:47
I was doing something stupid and accidentally broke my beloved 4 in 1 hex bit, so y'all get to see this (literally) exploded view of how this really handy tool works!
Jun 7 23:44
@Criggie alas, the problem I'm having is with the box end, not the open end
Jun 7 22:02
Or the average across 6 opposite tooth pairs?
Jun 7 22:01
How would you make that measurement on a 12 point box end? Do you just take the largest distance between any two teeth?
Jun 7 21:28
*how would one tell
