I assume that in Ubisoft, people who make those horrible rules and those who actually make the game are two different group of people?
Nov 26, 2014 18:37
Wow, I now see there are many things a computer cannot do. Is that like certain limitation of computer power?

I was trying to find the picture of the "numbers and alphabet combination" that comes up as a "human test" when you try to make an account!
Nov 26, 2014 18:33

a game about human players "playing" a task that a computer cannot efficiently solve. It surprises me that there are things that a computer cannot do; there are things humans can do better than computer.

Foldit is an online puzzle video game about protein folding. The game is part of an experimental research project, and is developed by the University of Washington's Center for Game Science in collaboration with the UW Department of Biochemistry. The objective of the game is to fold the structure of selected proteins as well as possible, using various tools provided within the game. The highest scoring solutions are analysed by researchers, who determine whether or not there is a native structural configuration (or native state) that can be applied to the relevant proteins, in the "real world"...

We didn't have the projection to follow the player but we have simple surrounding 360 degree monitor thinging.
Nov 22, 2014 22:37
we had something like this in our school
Nov 22, 2014 22:33
so the projection changes based on the position of the camera. I see.
Nov 22, 2014 22:32

Nov 22, 2014 22:29

aye aye, for now me is just taking mental notes, "priority queue, dead elements, skipping dead elements, predetermined path and also upperbounds array" this conversation will help me greatly in close future! me will, for now, work more on Sims.
Nov 19, 2014 19:09
(but mobile devices being sophisticated enough to do fancy 3D and other cool things, I suppose)
Nov 19, 2014 19:07
oh... ok that seems to make sense, yeah. ( don't know a lot about mobile's ram but that little thing surely can't have my desktop's large ram)
Nov 19, 2014 19:06
"...but depends on your platform".... wait.... stops noting Hmmm.
Nov 19, 2014 19:05
"memory heavy is better than cpu heavy" noted.
Nov 19, 2014 19:04
I remember Mick commenting that I have shitty CPU
Nov 19, 2014 19:03
so for me, it is, "well if it runs well on my computer, then it ought to run better on other computers"
Nov 19, 2014 19:03
but for now, I am aimming to have it run smoothly on my computer; my computer has poor cpu and ok ram and alright gpu.
Nov 19, 2014 19:02
Oh man... I am yet to plan that far ahead.

For now, A* is the only algorithm I know :( I must teach myself more on this topic.
Nov 19, 2014 19:00
I need A* for path finding; each orange needs a path to go to green, then eat. I want to have obstacles like rockes walls, and cliff, as you said!
