Going as well, good night or other day time in your respective time zones.

Jul 12, 2011 21:52
Bye, and have fun :-)

Entry-level is not going to be as well-built as a pro model.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:46
Or class.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:29
@rfusca That's the thing I wanted to say, but couldn't remember the term.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:26
Well, then there are three options that come to my mind. 1) Shoot and magnify the pic on the screen, adjust and repeat. 2) When focusing, try to find the sweet spot in the 'area' that you find good enough. 3) Adjust viewfinder to your sight.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:23
@ppumkin Do you have live view? That should work with tripod and stationary stuff.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:23
I think that in the old times most SLRs had a focusing screen that made it much easier to focus manually.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:22
Yep, and even when you're hand-holding you can break the rule :-)

@rfusca Well, apparently it's a subjective thing. And speaking of babies, I have to share one more simple family pic. I've found a new use for my lightstand.

Jul 12, 2011 21:18
...moon?
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:18
@ppumkin Planes, birds, ...?
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:17
@MattGrum See ya!
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:16
It took me a while, but now that I get the the connection I feel strangely attracted to making something similar :-)
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:13
Well, I'm glad some people remember it, it was worth the agony then :-)
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:11
oh, i really have to be fast...

Jul 12, 2011 21:08
@ppumkin I think you can post an image and text in the same line.
che
Jul 12, 2011 21:07
Reminded me of a night shot of a bride.
che
Jul 11, 2011 07:55
@rfusca Hello :-)
che
Jul 10, 2011 10:20
@EvanKrall I think it good that downvotes count as well. Disliking also says something about how the pic fits as a picture of the week.
che
Jul 10, 2011 10:12
@EvanKrall :-) I like how this photo gives us the context.
che
Jul 10, 2011 08:49
Did you look like a mouse? :-)
che
Jul 10, 2011 08:39
@EvanKrall Nice owl!

Anyway, gotta go to sleep. Have a nice evening!

@rfusca That was what I read in the highlights. Until now I thought that critique and feedback is basically the same thing.
che
May 24, 2011 23:56
@rfusca I guess it would be difficult to implement that in Stack Exchange context. It's something that would have to be done specifically for this site.
che
May 24, 2011 23:34
I've seen lot of talk about critique/feedback site in the starred messages for recent month or so. Is there any development about that?
che
May 24, 2011 23:22
Part of answer popularity is that it's easy to digest it. Some people are looking for one-line explanations and not for long descriptions.

I feel like I have free time again when I can browse Photo.SE.
che
May 24, 2011 22:00
I haven't got much time to participate on the site lately, but it looks like I'm slowly catching up, so hello again everyone :-)

Hey all, I'm kind of busy these days, so I've just dropped by to thank @RowlandShaw, @chills42 and @jrista for nominating themselves as moderators. The site seems to work very well under your rule, so I'm glad you've all volunteered again :-)

(Just one thing that came to my mind, I guess there are people who insist on displayng the picture exactly as they made that.)
che
Jan 25, 2011 21:36
@jrista: Aren't you afraid that rounded edges will change perception of the photos?
che
Jan 25, 2011 20:00
@jrista I didn't mean in any bad way, it looks pretty elegant :-)
che
Jan 25, 2011 18:29
Yep, that's an option as well. But I tend to not have fancy websites, so my preference hardly counts :-)
che
Jan 25, 2011 18:27
CSS magic won't work for old browsers, so if you want to be compatible with them you're going to need image editing magic.
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:09
@JohnCavan Yes, bounced flash would be my guess.
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:09
@JohnCavan: Enjoy the work.
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:09
@JohnCavan True. I thought you meant only the long exposure, which kind of confused me. :-)
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:07
Well, if "long exposure" means "long exposure and 1/1000 sec flash of light", then it surely is possible :-)
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:05
The reflection on the drop doesn't look like on-camera flash. I think the light came from camera right.
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:04
I understand CSS was related to jrista's site, I just don't think you can capture a water drop with long exposure.
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:02
@JohnCavan Uh, are we talking about the water drop photo or am I missing something?
che
Jan 25, 2011 12:01
@JohnCavan Looks like white sink with a piece of blue paper put under the water.
che
Jan 25, 2011 11:59
@jrista That's nice. Althought I would probably be too lazy to edit all photos to the title format with rounded edges and all.
che
Jan 25, 2011 11:57
This is the best question: photo.stackexchange.com/q/6601 Three answers, every one of them excellent and completely different from the other two.
che
Jan 23, 2011 21:12
@JohnCavan I have it the same. I'm too lazy to tag stuff, and I'm happy without them.
che
Jan 22, 2011 17:23
@Pearsonartphoto I think you can edit your messages only for a certain time after posting.
