Folks, please don't use the downvote button as "No" button. This is a good question. A lot of people are tempted to tell their boss that they want to leave the job. The answers here show why that is a bad idea. The OP should not be penalized for asking a useful question, just because he doesn't know the answer already.

@SantiBailors The difference being that the OP in those questions either already asked a question stating his goal, or others asked for clarification and edited it in. That aside, two wrongs don't make a right. If you find something wrong another question, you should contribute to fix that question, not use that as an example to defend other poor questions. If the OP of this question clarifies what exactly he wants, I will gladly edit the question and reopen it. But until then, it is unclear what exactly is being asked for so the question should stay on hold.

@SantiBailors It also "hints" at all of those other questions that I have posted as examples, as well as many others. That aside, this is a Q&A site, not "guess my question" site.

Why exactly is this question getting reopen votes? There is no clear goal included here. Does the OP want to complain about her? Does he want to know how to avoid getting distracted? Does he want to tell her to stop doing it? Does he want to find out if this is acceptable in the workplace? Does he want to know how to avoid her? Even when the question gets reopened, what exactly would one answer?

Did you buy the cup? If you did, then why were you leaving it in the common area?

@MisterPositive As they say, honey is where the money is. SE has realized this recently, and things will go in the direction where there is maximum revenue.

@IDrinkandIKnowThings Yes, but at least in principle, they are anonymous. Now with this welcoming bandwagon, it is a matter of time before everyone gets to see who was most "welcoming" to new users.

@DarkCygnus 3 PTO, that really sucks! Wow, that's a new low I have heard. Is that the standard practice in Gautemala, or just one of the perks of your company?

@IDrinkandIKnowThings It certainly did, until now. Now they are slowly moving it to be a social network. Now there's a welcoming hand, then there will be likes, friend requests, private messaging, then posting selfies to be more "welcoming" , and that slippery slope will continue. Anyway, if they want to run the show that way, good luck to them. I have better things to do with my life than be part of this gimmick.

I also find it outright insulting that we need to be "reminded" to be welcoming to new users. We have been doing that (at least most of the time), even before they started this Bandwagon, and while they were chasing people away with their high and mighty attitude of "if you don't get how the site works, you can go elsewhere."

@IDrinkandIKnowThings The Great Black Hand of the Welcoming Bandwagon was the final straw. Apparently people who have no skin in the game are suddenly of great importance to SE. Someone posts a blog that SE is unwelcoming, and out they come with a fresh set of gimmicks. Meanwhile, feature requests from core users are languishing for several years, but who cares about those?

@MisterPositive I have decided that I no longer want to put up with SE's gimmicks. I don't need this site, and I can no longer see any reason to continue contributing to their bottom line.

@DarkCygnus No, not that. Things have changed a bit since then, and I am considering "permanently" leaving the site (not 6 to 8 weeks).

@MisterPositive Long story short, I might permanently leave the SE network soon. This is NOT retired in restricted mode. Although technically, it might be, since I will post questions when I have them.

My job search has been a disaster so far, and I have also been putting on weight. I need to take some time off to solve both those problems.

Seems that we are getting fiber optic internet throughout the country over the next few years, with speeds starting at 100mbps and going upto 1Gbps at fairly reasonable monthly cost. I'm quite excited about this. :)

Which reminds me of a certain "motivational speaker" who once talked about "assume makes an ass out of u and me", and I asked him, "does legume make a leg out of u and me similarly?" ;)

@codewise What's a republican principal? Pardon my ignorance, I don't understand what you are talking about. Would you mind elaborating your point? As far as I know, a republic is a form of governance where the Head of State is elected by the people, as against a monarch. Not sure how that applies here.

Moderators work as a team and the presence or absence of a specific moderator, particularly a 2.5 months old moderator shouldn't be a huge cause of concern. Regardless, feel free to raise the issue with the moderation team or SE using the Contact Us form if you feel that this causes a significant harm to the community.

@IDrinkandIKnowThings The rest of the moderation team doesn't see it as abandoning responsibility. I'm pretty sure they will be able to cover for me just as I covered for them during their absence (or at least tried to). I have informed them of my limited availability (and potentially no availability) several weeks ago and they didn't have a problem with it.

Need to focus more on that stuff. I love the irony of staying away from TWP while looking for a job lol.
