Feb 10, 2013 20:10
yes, it's much different from windows, by the way can you recommend some good book for this kind of tasks
Feb 10, 2013 20:09
I remember I was trying to update PLESK, but it did not worked because it was trying to update 5.1 branch as it's not compatible with 5.5 yet
Feb 10, 2013 20:08
yes
Feb 10, 2013 20:08
Thanks Luis
Feb 10, 2013 20:08
I guess it was caused by PLESK update
Feb 10, 2013 20:07
it works!
Feb 10, 2013 20:05
so what's your suggestion?
Feb 10, 2013 20:04
I can restore server from backup and try to install it again, technically mysql server is working only services complain
Feb 10, 2013 20:00
well, I have installed percona for purpose as it's most fastest version of MySQL
Feb 10, 2013 19:59
ok, as I can seed there is two branches installed 16 and 18 of percona
Feb 10, 2013 19:56
yes there are C to :)
Feb 10, 2013 19:56
that make sense, what about p and v?
Feb 10, 2013 19:54
so how would I know which one is installed?
Feb 10, 2013 19:53
can you tell me what does this list mean, and what mysql 4.1 doing there?
Feb 10, 2013 19:53
server is managed by PLESK if it can help
Feb 10, 2013 19:52
via apt-get
Feb 10, 2013 19:52
yes
Feb 10, 2013 19:50
there are mysql 5.1 and 5.5
Feb 10, 2013 19:50
I believe there is something wrong with it, paste2.org/p/2846303
Feb 10, 2013 19:48
installed
Feb 10, 2013 19:48
not found
Feb 10, 2013 19:48
how would I check?
Feb 10, 2013 19:48
I dont know
Feb 10, 2013 19:47
mysql password
Feb 10, 2013 19:47
my root password is still rejected
Feb 10, 2013 19:45
are there any places where services are hooked to, is it possible to rescan/repair it?
Feb 10, 2013 19:44
root@lvps217-199-163-73:/var/lib/mysql# service mysql restart
restart: Unknown instance:
Feb 10, 2013 19:44
mysql still not accessible via service
Feb 10, 2013 19:43
well, website is working I can access databases, as it was before
Feb 10, 2013 19:42
maybe they are using some other command for mysqlrepair?
Feb 10, 2013 19:42
seems like it does not like my password
Feb 10, 2013 19:42
no, mysql repair still throws me an error
Feb 10, 2013 19:41
not yet, trying it again
Feb 10, 2013 19:41
is it ok, that it tries to stop it twice?
Feb 10, 2013 19:40
root@lvps217-199-163-73:/var/lib/mysql# dpkg-reconfigure percona-server-server-5.5
* Stopping MySQL (Percona Server) mysqld
* Stopping MySQL (Percona Server) mysqld
* Starting MySQL (Percona Server) database server mysqld
* Checking for corrupt, not cleanly closed and upgrade needing tables.
Feb 10, 2013 19:39
for some reason the process take a while, it is ok?
Feb 10, 2013 19:39
ok, password window appeared, hope new password would work
Feb 10, 2013 19:37
so I was doing it right
Feb 10, 2013 19:37
ok, just to confirm, mysql-server-5.5 does not exists, only percona-server-server-5.5
Feb 10, 2013 19:36
that what I was using
Feb 10, 2013 19:36
I guess they did as it's optimised fork for performance
Feb 10, 2013 19:36
something like percona-server-server-5.5
Feb 10, 2013 19:35
by the way, for percona there is a different file
Feb 10, 2013 19:35
does not do anything
Feb 10, 2013 19:34
I'm still receiving access denied
Feb 10, 2013 19:32
so how would I reset mysql password again?
