Way too much analysis and speculation here. You won it in a raffle. It is your property. Prizes are 99.99% of the time non-transferable. A prize in a competition i.e. raffle that is random can no way be construed bribe. Ethics doesn't even come into this. In terms of your coworker you should tell him to look up definitions and be sure before he goes round spouting unfounded speculation. It would also be a good idea for him to get some therapy to deal with his jealousy and envy. FWIW I would keep my distance from this coworker in the future

Well Joe, obviously I can't just live on water and air. Doesn't mean that I'm bottom of the pile or someone who should walk on eggshells just because I need money to be able to live and be part of society.

Yes they seem to keep extending the contract on a rolling basis when it suits them. The woman who I'm covering for doesn't seem to want to return.…… I wonder why?

I think that they just don't like me. I am in no way blaming minorities. It is no different than me seeing a Muslim with a headscarf and asking if they eat partners lunch and I could make some alternative arrangement if not. I have a Buddhist vegetarian mum and I don't think she would be in anyway offended if somebody asked her if she was a vegetarian because they were in charge of ordering lunches and couldn't see any note to that effect

The email sent to all partners after I had spoken in person to this particular partner, was along the lines that I was new to the post and was responsible for ordering partners lunches each week. That I couldn't see any kind of dietary/allergy requirements listed and if anybody had something could they please inform me so I could let the catering know.
