@JoelESalas There's a path to it in my .bashrc. I just invoke it by typing R on cmd line.

@JoelESalas Problem is, I don't have root. Thus I can't touch that version. What I don't understand is why would it look there when clearly I instruct it to use another path in LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Q: Path To libstdc++ while installing R package

At the end when it tries to load the package, I get the following error: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by /tools/R/2.15.2/lib64/R/library/igraph/libs/igraph.so) To me this error means that ther...

The server I'm transfering to is a production server.. the UID of the owner of the source folder happens to match a UID in the production server that should not have permission to this folder.

Well let's say I start an rsync between two folders... pause it ... and change permissions in the source folder and resume the rsync... would this catch the new permissions of files already transfered?

@MikeyB I have a number of nfs exports that I need to serve through http... problem is that these files have permisions from users across the LDAP domain. I need to add the apache server to a number of LDAP groups. I can't do this, unless apache is an LDAP user.
