@CanadianLuke You’re welcome! I still don’t understand why people aren’t investing in moderating the site but at least now you’ll have the help you need there.
Oct 30, 2021 22:13
elected, but at least you have a backstop.
Oct 30, 2021 22:13
Of course, anyone else can nominate and get
Oct 30, 2021 22:07
@CanadianLuke Barring any unforeseen issues, it looks as though freelancing.SE is safe from being canned. From what I understand, there only needs to be one nominated moderator from the next election to save the site. As long as I remember to self nominate, it should be fine.
Oct 30, 2021 09:01
@Kilisi I’ll see what I can do later on (on my phone right now). Looks like we’re in good shape to help the site survive.
Oct 30, 2021 08:35
@Kilisi Thanks a lot. Really appreciate the help. Just two more votes needed now!
Oct 30, 2021 08:03
@CanadianLuke no problem- I’m doing what I can to gather up the rep needed to nominate myself. Others might be doing the same, but I’m doing what I can to save the place.
Oct 29, 2021 22:17
@Lilienthal Yeah, that would help. Need about 90 more now. By my way of thinking, if the users want it closed, they should say so. The reasons I’ve seen for people not stepping up don’t really indicate an overt wish for the entire site to fail.

@Revenant_Evil The standard of questions seems to have been slipping for at least a couple of years. There was a time when I felt I could engage with people asking questions, but now there's little to draw me.
Oct 26, 2021 08:53
@AIQ All the best of luck!
Sep 21, 2021 12:58
And Sin City.
Sep 21, 2021 12:58
Never heard of those. Most of my graphic novels were based on Alien/Predator.
Sep 21, 2021 12:53
And Lone Wolf. Now that was a book.
Sep 21, 2021 12:53
I also enjoyed Grey But only as the manga, never watched the film.
Sep 21, 2021 12:50
I need to get around to watching the 4K version of Akira at some point.
Sep 21, 2021 12:48
Still no Alita 2. I re-watched the first film for old time's sake a week or so ago.
Sep 21, 2021 12:42
@Old_Lamplighter That padded cell is lonely, isn't it? :D I think I'll keep on my side of the bars though...
Sep 21, 2021 12:34
Things are slow, eh?
Sep 21, 2021 12:19
Afternoon all.
Jun 22, 2021 14:55
@Old_Lamplighter Good to see you, old chap.
Jun 16, 2021 05:29
@Kaz I emailed him as well. No response as yet.
Jun 10, 2021 13:27
Yeah, he normally says something before taking a break. Seems odd just to take off without a word.
Jun 10, 2021 13:04
Hope Lamplighter is doing ok, not seen him in a month now.
Jun 4, 2021 15:22
Always fancied going to Italy. We'll do so when our elderly dog has departed for Rainbow Bridge (although we're in no hurry for that).
Jun 4, 2021 15:09
For recommendations on where to go in the world, that really depends on what you like doing. For me, the West coast of Scotland gives me the most joy.
Jun 4, 2021 15:08
Congrats on giving the job the boot!
May 12, 2021 16:28
Thanks. I think it's just wisecracking humour than an attempt at malicious intent, but still.

"Arial was first created in 1982, and has served the web well for decades. But technology moves on. Modern system typefaces look better on both new high DPI screens, and old screens alike. Apple’s San Francisco and Microsoft’s Segoe both look great on retina displays, have more expressive weights, and improve readability across all contexts."

Q: We are switching to system fonts on May 10, 2021

Aaron ShekeyUpdate - These changes are now live! TL;DR We’re shipping system fonts as our default font stack. We plan to do this on May 10th, 2021. What? We’re planning on specifying system fonts on Stack Overflow and the Stack Exchange Network. On macOS and iOS, you’ll see things set in San Francisco. On Wi...

Was it a live fish?
May 11, 2021 06:07
Kind of makes the site look like it's on an iPad.
May 11, 2021 06:07
Huh, font change eh?
May 7, 2021 11:25
If you're not going to resize it on a laptop or computer, then you can search for "image resizer" in the relevant app store and download and app that will resize the picture.
May 7, 2021 11:15
You don't need to change DPI. That's only relevant if you've scanned the document using a flatbed scanner.

A: How to resize the image?

SnowThe instructions says Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred) Size of file should be between 10 kb – 20kb for signature and left thumb impression. For hand written declaration size of file should be 20kb- 50kb. The image you posted is 560 x 160 pixels, so is too large. The simplest way to shrink...

May 7, 2021 10:47
If you resize the photos using the paint app, the file size should also shrink.
May 7, 2021 10:39
What don't you understand about the image requirements? I thought we went through these before.
May 7, 2021 10:35
As motosubatsu said, those phrases are hard to work out without any context.
May 7, 2021 10:30
Good morning. Or good whatever time period it is when someone else comes into the chat.
Apr 27, 2021 06:52
The file size will decrease when you resize the dimensions.
Apr 27, 2021 06:23
Also, it might be a bad idea for you to publicly post a "proof of identity" photo online.
Apr 27, 2021 06:22
@RajorshiKoyal I posted an answer, although the question will likely be closed because it's off-topic for that site. Basically, your picture is too large.
Apr 20, 2021 15:45
Hello, my name is Reginald Dwight.
Apr 16, 2021 06:07
@Old_Lamplighter Thanks for the bonus on the workplace harassment answer, an unexpected gift overnight!
Apr 13, 2021 14:37
@starboy Except in a country where facial tattoos are normal of course.
Apr 13, 2021 11:11
We're not allowed scandals here, we're in a period of national mourning.
Apr 13, 2021 11:06
That's good. We've entered another stage of loosening lockdown here, which is a positive. Still have to wait for the end of July before my employer even thinks about a return to the office.
Apr 13, 2021 10:57
And hello by the way, hope you're well.
