I've also used Ambien, and while my doctor has told me basically to tolerate its side effects for one night, I would not want to make airline stewardesses deal with me when facing some of the worse effects of a single dose.

@Traveller General strategy note: Don't ask your doctor for the most they would be willing to prescribe to medicate you. Explain the situation and then ask your doctor what the best approach you can get would be. You might not be attracted by a lower dose or not combining Xanax and Ambien, but doctors have dealt with stressed-out people before and may know how to give you "just what the doctor ordered."

I might note that this combination and dosing sounds like a wild and heavy-handed guess when airplanes make you nervous than a solution you would repeat after having done it. Everything I've heard about Xanax is that if you take a 10 pill prescription, you can get addicted within 5 pills. I would not want to face the aftermath of this prescription.

Also, have you explored non-pharmaceutical solutions like asking the help of a good counselor? I personally do not use the "Calm" phone app, but I've heard it's the happiest app on the app store.

Keep in mid that this person has probably had multiple bosses with differences and personalities not fully known by others. You may genuinely want unvarnished candor to the point of her being as blunt as it takes to let you know exactly how she sees things. With previous bosses, it would have been political suicide to try to be diplomatic in only communicating about one nuisance. You may be one of the few bosses she's met who wants full candor, and in other cases it was hard to really know before it was too late.

I didn't see where the discussion was veering towards gun control but I am from the U.S., I know both members of the National Rifle Association and the gun control movement, and the gun owners have a whole lot more to say about gun safety, and much more often, than their opponents. Two items that gun lobbyists say with FAQ frequency are, "Every gun is always loaded," and "Q: What gun is the most dangerous gun?"--"A: The unloaded one." The people I've met who would be most alarmed by this anecdote would be precisely those who advocate for U.S. citizen firearm ownership.

Q: The barber in a village shaves every man who does not shave himself. Who shaves the barber?--A: She doesn't shave.

I do find several things unfortunate in this: that this conversation was reported to HR by a faceless coward, that they were said in the first place, that the attitude present was in a place that could easily say such things, and that in your posting sees it as innocuous and the only unfortunate thing you really see in the situation is that the fabric of faintly Dawkinian conversation happened to fall in HR's lap.

One general comment: There is a difference between general conduct outside of work, and keeping company secrets secret. You ordinarily (at least in my area) sign a contract dictating that you never divulge proprietary information, and that's a 24/7 obligation. There are other areas where expectations are placed at work that have no real or pretended application outside of work: your employer ordinarily does not tell you how to dress after hours unless it's way out there (indecent or whatnot).

I know the most common setup is to have the Directory and DocumentRoot be the same directory, but Apache is just as happy if some parent Directory to the DocumentRoot sets permissions. The usual way to accomplish this is by making them the same directory, but if you set permissions in a parent Directory setting (without an intervening Directory changing things on the DocumentRoot's path), those settings are applied to the DocumentRoot.

P.S. When I copy the httpd.conf on the computer that I migrated this computer from, "apachectl restart" runs without reported error but the server is refusing connections.

Thank you; I read through it and tried copying the AddHandler line inside the VirtualHost. Would it be helpful if I copied my httpd.conf inside a pastebin?

(Just added my httpd.conf file in at the bottom.)

Yes; it was there to begin with after the upgrade.
