nvm :) figured it out.
Dec 21, 2015 18:50
I want to know how many iterations it will take to approach a certain value?
Dec 21, 2015 18:50
(a)*0.015=b. =One iteration.
(a-b)*0.015=c. =two iterations.
(a-b-c)*0.015=d. =three iterations. etc.

may I ask someone to tell me what kind of equation I'm looking at, from a story problem? Seems similar to half-life to me but am uncertain
Dec 21, 2015 18:42
hello!
Feb 10, 2014 02:28
Thank you for your help. Am off
Feb 10, 2014 02:26
:)
Feb 10, 2014 02:25
k
Feb 10, 2014 02:25
Well, present lol. Not there yet. Although I hope to be by Summer
Feb 10, 2014 02:24
I'm there
Feb 10, 2014 02:23
yep
Feb 10, 2014 02:22
It seems odd that suddenly the exponent becomes the object of division instead of the base number.
Feb 10, 2014 02:21
hm
Feb 10, 2014 02:19
I actually dropped in here because some students asked for help on the school discussion forum and I could explain all the stuff, save for the geometric mean part lol. Still a bit green I suppose, but meh :)
Feb 10, 2014 02:18
I'm quite excited by it. My bookshelf has a bunch of math books on it, Taleb, Mlodinow, etc.
Feb 10, 2014 02:18
@AlexanderGruber thank you
Feb 10, 2014 02:17
My first statistics course :)
Feb 10, 2014 02:17
>.< feelin' kinda silly now lol. I did read that section.
Feb 10, 2014 02:17
that makes sense
Feb 10, 2014 02:17
right
Feb 10, 2014 02:16
Why is a geometric mean more applicable here? It's the multiplication/compounding, isn't it?
Feb 10, 2014 02:15
The worth of something after the interest/depreciation value is applied. Er, rather, growth rates are the interest/depreciation occurring
Feb 10, 2014 02:14
Right. I understand the how through to the solution. I also understand the why, all the way until the part where we use the radical
Feb 10, 2014 02:13
I have five values in this problem (all percentages): 5.5, 1.1, -3.5, -1.1, and 1.8.
Feb 10, 2014 02:12
+5.5%, -1.1%, stuff of that nature. Across multiple years
Feb 10, 2014 02:12
what about incorporating negative growth rates? That doesn't apply to things like +/- interest rates
Feb 10, 2014 02:11
true
Feb 10, 2014 02:10
I read it as +200% and +300%, so tripling and then quadrupling. k, I can follow radical six instead. My misunderstanding
Feb 10, 2014 02:08
2 radical 3 over both years

cool, thank you. Going to stick with rogue. If I end up taking a feat to train in a new skill, I'll multiclass, otherwise w/e
Nov 7, 2015 19:51
yeah
Nov 7, 2015 19:50
I am not so versed in this system.
Nov 7, 2015 19:50
so far my default is to skip it and try raw rogue

I want high burst damage. That's my main goal lol. Went brutal scoundrel, elf
Nov 7, 2015 19:47
I was wondering if multiclass ranger to get into stormwarden was decent?
Nov 7, 2015 19:47
I'm trying out a 4e rogue for a Roll20 game. We're 5th level and I've only got access to the PHB, plus whatever I can find online/wiki.
Nov 7, 2015 19:47
Hey Zachiel :)
Nov 7, 2015 19:40
anyone fluent in 4e in here?
Nov 20, 2014 03:07
@metool yo

Think so?
Almost none of my old group is following :) figures.

My wife and I are transitioning to 4e.
Mar 15, 2014 02:31
hi :)
Feb 20, 2014 23:07
Got a 4e PHB and DMG coming in next week :)
On a related note: no takers for people buying that 4e MM from last xmas.
