Could you explain briefly about the death penalty situation? Are you saying that's different ethically, or also as a matter of law?

I can tell you why I didn't attend the seminars at my school, which were scheduled late on Friday afternoon and were almost never in subjects that interested me. :-)

Fentanyl before social media. ;-)

Bit of a frame challenge: these days much software that is offline uses the internet, and many websites could actually be standalone apps. So even for your own thinking, I would suggest that you think more about what kinds of internet access you're talking about (social media, video sharing sites, photo sharing sites, Wikipedia, etc.).

... This casts the whole system of thought into question, insofar as it is intended to be a guide to practical policy decisions.”

Here's my best shot of a peace offering: “This argument notwithstanding, Locke's Second Treatise of Civil Government, which serves as an important source text for modern libertarian thought, is based upon the clumsy idea of a ‘state of war’ — a reductionistic concept that leads to morally questionable results even within the work, viz. that if a man steals my property, then I am entitled to kill him, but not to steal my original property back.

@NotThatGuy This would be an excellent question to raise on Philosophy SE (i.e., whether producing an argument without a refutation constitutes an endorsement of that argument).

@NotThatGuy "you can't publicly post a position without a refutation, and have it not function as an endorsement." — We'll just have to disagree on that point. I personally feel it's more important to be able to clearly present arguments for positions that I disagree with than for those I agree with.

@bharring It's admirable to want to stay away from sensitive issues, but since it's a question about the ADA I think it's warranted.

I would call this behavior “combative” or ”domineering“ rather than “entitled.”

I'm a U.S. citizen I'm on a similar list in the U.S.. Until it gets resolved—as I certainly hope it does—try to be as polite and as patient as you can with the people you talk to. They're probably doing behavioral profiling to see if their questions make you nervous. And at the end of the day, they're just doing their jobs like anyone else.

This is an excellent question. I never realized the word was spelled with a u. I haven't been so surprised about a word since I learned about the r in turmeric.

I'm delighted to learn that there's an actual technical reason for this. I had previously assumed it was just false advertising!
